@Anti-Matter I know, and that's fine, but there was just a ridiculous amount of them. I personally wouldn't have cared as much if we got an actual Metroid Prime announcement, but as is they still could have catered to you and not had so many of them. Also, while they are popular, you are still in the minority as for gaming tastes. Not knocking that, just saying.

Well because I'm different.
I don't have interest with popular games like zelda, xenoblade, splatoon, just dance, fortnite, metroid, etc.
I played mostly unpopular / niche games that I have interest about.
Fae Farm and Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life were really caught my interest for farming sim games since I have ever played Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life from PS2 version long time ago.
@Anti-Matter I know your gaming preferences and why from when you explained it on Push Square. I wasn't criticizing it. You can play whatever you want to play, but that also doesn't change the fact that the Direct had a ton of farming sims, and honestly too many for some people that don't have any interest in them. It was compounded for somebody like me that sat through mostly the whole thing waiting on an announcement for a game that I never got.

@JaxonH I guess my concern is whether this is a full-fledged Monster Rancher game, but with Ultra-Man beasties, or more of a fanservice side-game for Ultra-Man fans. Monster Rancher games usually feature ways of bonding with the monsters, a lot of original characters, emergent plots as you play through the games, etc. and I'm skeptical if those elements will be well-represented.
Rain Code is a day one for me unless it reviews poorly. Looks interesting, and I obviously love the pedigree behind it.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
Hating something because it's popular is something I used to do. It's a nice feeling to have this "special secret" game that nobody knows. It means you get to tell people about it.
But honestly it's so nice meeting like-minded people to share your experience with.

I was hoping for Metroid too, but I settled it in my mind beforehand to not expect it, because it had been rumored so many times before. I personally believe it exists, but my guess is it'll be a launch window title for the next Switch revision in fall 2023.
But ya. I've never been big into farm sims, until my brother told me Rune Factory 4 was one of the best games he ever played on 3DS. And usually I share his taste in games. I also played Dragon Quest Builders 2 and really enjoyed planting my own rice and lettuce and all that stuff, but also adventuring and fighting enemies. Rune Factory 5 was a disappointment, so I was looking forward to Harvestella. But that game's demo turned out to be not as good as I'd hoped (it's a good game, but I want legendary), so now my sights are set on Fae Farm. Rune Factory 3 Special was also nice but it's an older DS game.
I quite enjoyed the Direct myself. I was very pleased with Fire Emblem Engage, Pikmin 4, Octopath Traveler II, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom release date and Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core release date, Rain Code, Kirby Return to Dreamland, Theatrhythm, Tales of Symphonia, Fatal Frame, Atelier Ryza 3 and, last but not least, Radiant Silvergun.
But I feel for you. After Metroid Dread's success, I don't think Nintendo will keep us waiting too much longer before we get more.

@JaxonH Switch sucessor with a graphical capacity/power equivalent to a handheld PS4? since Switch graphical capacity is equivalent to a handheld PS3, @Kermit1 actualy no, Nintendo consider the Pikmin franchise a real strategy game with lighy puzzle elements
Looks like Splatoon 3 is likely going to have another week at #1 in the physical UK charts. Out of interest I checked the Amazon charts and Splatoon 3 is at #6 where the only game ahead of it is PS5 MW2 preorders at #3 (the rest of the top 5 are digital currency).
@Grumblevolcano
In the US, Splatoon is #7, Zelda TotK at #13, and CoD MWII at #18. The rest is shop cards, Roblox cards, hardware/accessories, etc.
Seems to be doing very well all around.

@Giancarlothomaz
That would be nice to see.
Though im no expert on these kinds of things i think someone mentioned that you could in theory due to the advancement in mobile tech you could have something like that while still keeping the form factor and battery life intace.
the big issue seems to be the whole chip shortage issue at this point.
@JaxonH It's not so much that I'm a Metroid fan as I've never played Metroid game before other than the Metroid Dread demo. It's just a game/series that I know would really appeal to me as I do enjoy a good FPS, so I was hoping that I would get to play it finally sooner rather than later. It'd also be a nice change of pace amongst all of the RPGs.
Like I said before, I think I would have liked it better if there was a better balance (and obviously Metroid Prime). There were multiple games that I'm interested in, and it started off with a huge bang for me with a new Fire Emblem. I still have yet to play Three Houses, but I know I'm going to love it, so a new one of that was an obvious win for me. Rain Code seems intriguing, and would be one of those games that would have stuck out to me otherwise, but I had already gone on autopilot watching it by then I believe.
