@Magician In this case, PH3 games (headed by Durante) is responsible for the Switch and PC ports of these games, which is why they feature gameplay improvements and whatnot.
Should have contracted these guys to do the Ys Switch ports as well.
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition
The Switch version is like a full remaster of the PS4 version by comparison. Yet they're releasing on the same day.
We lucked out big time getting PH3 to handle the Switch conversion. In addition to all the extra features not present on the PS version, I checked the screenshot comparison sliders and, it was like the complete opposite of what you'd normally expect.
Even if it was just an upressed ROM with high speed toggle like the PS version, I'd still get it for Switch. But having all those extra bells and whistles on top of new textures sure is nice.

Anyone have a beat on shovel knight dig? I haven't heard much about it and it's supposed to be releasing soon I recall. Checked the eshop and pricing isn't even up yet.
Footage of Nier Automata on Switch. You can see the areas where it needed to be downgraded (some bad texture work, more pop-in than on PS4, etc.), but performance looks pretty smooth, and the overall look of the game is basically the same.
Hopefully undocked play holds up as well.
@JaxonH I actually kinda prefer the look of the PS4 screenshots, but, regardless, they're doing good work with the Switch version. Wild to think it's going to be the definitive console edition of the game.
The only real handheld issue that's ever a problem is resolution, and Nier is said to be full native 720p in handheld, so if it looks this close to the other versions docked, I imagine that'll only be more true in handheld mode.
Looking at the screenshots of Trails, neither looks bad, but the noticeable difference I see is cleaner, higher res textures (and optional larger text which is good for handheld mode)
The Switch news section article for the N64 games in the Direct seems a bit off. For Pilotwings 64 it has "2009 - 2010 Nintendo / INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS." and there's an age rating of 18+ for the article.
@Grumblevolcano
It was already getting one as a preorder bonus for the gold edition at Gamestop. Not sure if this is the same one or a different variant. This is EU though so it's good Europeans can now get their hands on one.

No gyro aiming in Prodeus at launch, so I guess that's out for now. The developer didn't rule it out in a future update, so I guess I'll reconsider it when the time comes that it's added.
These developers not including gyro aiming at launch in their shooters must be seriously out of touch with the Switch playerbase.
They're delaying the Switch launch anyway. Ought to just delay it until they manage to add in the feature.
I didn't remember this until I actually played it, but the original Doom on Switch has gyro controls, which just amuses me. It's a lovely addition, especially for a game that has already had like a billion console ports.
It's a cool thing to have but I genuinely keep forgetting about it and keep playing it without intentionally using it. I guess because its such an old game that modern control ideas don't even come to mind all that much.
