I checked the coming soon section but I feel like it's not showing all the major stuff. Post direct, what are we looking at for releases through the rest of 2022?

@Kermit1 that’s why I find it funny when folks say there are no games on switch. You may not like all of them but there is plenty to play.

Also why I wait until Black Friday to buy most of my games. Would have to sell a kidney otherwise.

There's so many amazing games on the way it's mind boggling. Switch truly is the greatest platform of all time. Not just due to its dizzying catalog of top shelf games, but the fact all of them are console versions, handheld versions, portable console tabletop versions, and many offer local splitscreen and/or local wireless.

@Ryu_Niiyama
Goodness, how long did it take you to type that up?!! That's quite the definitive list!

@JaxonH lol I am still updating because I am trying to make sure i didn’t miss any japan only games. Since I know others import as well. But the roofer was working on my ceiling so I needed to be in the area and not working.

Plays fine for me. I've found 95% of ppl can't even notice the complaints of frames of lag and stuff. I played it and it felt flawless. Absolute top notch.

ESP ra.de, that's exactly what I did. The conversion rate of USD to Yen is favorable. So a 5,000¥ card can be bought for $40, even despite Play-Asia taxing a bit. Grabbed it digitally with my JP account along with the other 3 M2 Shot Triggers releases- Aleste Collection, Tiger Heli and Fire Shark. They're expensive but so good with extensive options. They're shmups so translation isn't that necessary. I used Google translate app "Instant Translation" AR feature to see what's what in the menu, so I could rotate into TATE mode and get scanlines, smoothing and difficulty set to my liking.

I'm different.
I will pick games from different consoles (PS3 / PS4 / PS5 / Wii / Wii U / etc) depend on what games should I get before someone pick the games I have been waiting for.

Oh OK, never-mind. I got super agitated because Electric Playground on YT is a shmup dedicated channel, who also USED TO do reviews for NintendoLife for shmups (I say used to, because they kicked his clown keaster to the curb not long after giving the Psikyo Shooting Stars collection a 5/10 all because of a few extra lag frames, as if any normal gamer cares about that crap).

Every video he just obsesses about lag. He'll tell his viewers "oh Radiant Silvergun has 1 extra frame of lag compared to the Xbox 360 version, so you should avoid it". But he goes beyond that. He'll insist EVERYONE will notice. Dude lives in a bubble and is so hyper focused on this tiny little thing most ppl can't even tell when playing, and makes it into this massive game breaking ordeal. Would be one thing to say, "hey, it's just my opinion, most of you probably won't be able to tell or care". But instead he insists his opinion is the only right opinion, and if you can't tell the game has 1 extra frame lag there's something wrong with you, and that you DEFINITELY WILL notice. He absolutely trashed the TMNT collection over "insanely unacceptable lag", despite 95% of reviewers praising it and having no issues.

Even did a video with Shmup Junkie who called him out on it and was like dude, the Genesis Mini has 8 frames of lag, but who cares. It's a great buy. You're making this out to be way bigger of a deal than it really is. Ever since, every video he makes he slips in hostile jabs toward any who would dare not share his opinion, going to far as to say what ppl will or won't notice, saying there's something wrong with you if you dont...

My feet don't fit in clown shoes. Dude needs to take that hogwash back to the circus where it belongs.

Anyways, when I heard criticism of DoDonPachi I assumed it was just a regurgitation of his narrative. I never actually saw the original arcade game so I have no frame of reference. But it looked fine to me. Was too busy dodging bullets to really analyze it though

Ok, something odd is going on with my Switch's internet. I was playing ACNH and looking for custom designs when my wifi cut off for my Switch I waited 7mins for the wifi to come back and it never did. I then went to settings and it said not connected so I clicked the re-connect button and after 3mins of loading I got a DNS (I think that was how it was spelt) error. My Switch still has no wifi ye my PC does, is there some kind of maintenance going on or do I need to wait longer.

@NintendoByNature What do I have on preorder at retail through 2022?

Potion Permit, The Diofield Chronicle, Severed Steel, Trails from Zero, Airoheart, F.I.S.T., NieR: Automata, Chaos; Head Noah / Chaos; Child, No Man's Sky, In Sound Mind, Warhammer 40k: Shootas, Blood & Teef, New Tales from the Borderlands, Persona 5 Royal, Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, Yomawari 3, Bayonetta 3, Harvestella, Atari 50, Tactics Ogre, Art of Rally, and Dragon Quest Treasures.

I'm sure I'm missing a couple or few, and that doesn't include my boutique preorders.

Switch Physical Collection - 1,540 games (as of January 28th, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)

@Magician quite the hall my friend, quite the hall. How's your actual play schedule lookin? I'm sure some of those will be tossed into the ol BL.

I think I'll have to pass on diofield, nier, P5R, and tactics ogre, at least up front. And I'm trying to see which one I should buy first since there's no way I can play both in 1 week, but bayo3 and sparks of hope are too close to eachother. Might be best to play bayo3 and give sparks of hope the pass for a few weeks. Price will probably drop as well anyway.

It is a good idea to wait a little bit before purchasing Sparks of Hope. Ubisoft games become cheaper pretty fast. If you have not played Persona 5 yet, I would say you should at some point, if you like that kind of game. It is pretty great.

Right now I am playing Dark Chronicle on the PS 2. The good thing about JRPG's is, I do not have to fear about paying too much money for games.

@NintendoByNature Yup, my purchase-rate definitely raises hell with my backlog. I play about twenty hours a week. So it's always one step forward, three steps back. It's not so bad if a game is fewer than ten hours long, but all of these 50+ hour-long rpgs are murder on my free time.

@JaxonH you must have a lot of time/money to play all this games, here in Brazil if i plan to buy at least 2/3 of this games it would be a fortune(i planing to buy Bayonetta 3 during Black Friday, Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom as a late birthday present, my birthday is in early april, and i waiting if the rumored 2D Donkey Kong game is real, for me to play).

I do play all the games, I just don't finish them all. Oftentimes I'll play a game for a bit then love onto another.

It's expensive, but... not that bad. I probably spend 10% of my net income each year on gaming related purchases. And that's all I really spend for recreation.
