I don't think anyone's trying to forcefully cram the benefits of OLED as being worth it to anyone else but themselves. The benefits and improvements are there. Whether someone personally feels they're worth upgrading for is only a question they can answer.

I know I'm not trying to convince anyone else to buy one. But I am excited for it. It's a very high quality upgrade and I've been ready for a new Switch model for some time.

I was addressing more the deceptive side by sides, where someone uses a completely blown out OG Switch next to an OLED model and then says "INSANE UPGRADE!". And it is like... maybe it is an upgrade, but you're making it look like the existing Switch is completely unusable and that just isn't true.

I don't think that's anyone's intention. The current Switch is most definitely not unusable. I've used mine for 4.5 years and love it.

But the differences are real. The pics aren't intentionally blowing anything out. That's just how current Switch is compared to OLED. The difference is evident in a side by side. But if you're just playing current Switch it'll look fine.

I don't think the message is, "current Switch is garbage, this is a must have upgrade". The message is, "current Switch is fine, but when compared to the OLED the advantages are clear".

Yeah maybe, games media and the modern generation of clickbait and rageclickbaiting has made me cynical. Maybe it is completely innocent but I've long since lost my trust. All I see is a lot of grey, washed out, borderline unusable screens displayed for the original Switch and I'm like looking down at my Switch in my hands like... ??? what is wrong with their screen? They should get that serviced.

Is that the person that says R-Rated products are evil? Or is that someone else?

At least the game library you can hold doesn't have a weird cut off, cause I'm definitely past that.

Back on 3DS you were limited to 300 installs. Anything beyond that would bump out the oldest install and cause it to not show up. But uninstall a game, and suddenly that hidden game would reappear. So it was there, it just wouldn't render its icon. Thankfully 300 was almost exactly perfect for how many games on 3DS I had (about half were VC for GBA and SNES). But there's no way that would fly on Switch.

@JaxonH 300 Games wow... Did you even play through all of those? How does one find the time? Anyways, that sounds like a real gaming lover, i am impressed! Though there are probably a lot more people on here who might have played that and more

@JaxonH Yeah that's why I was mostly physical on 3DS, I didn't wanna deal with that. Switch though. I just buy games where they are cheapest and let the chips fall. I gotta do another count though, I gotta be near 500 switch games by now. Granted I’m only in the 200s for 3ds as I have very little VC.

I swear I never buy what I actually go to the eshop to buy. but with 14 games removed from the wishlist...it can breath a little easier. Yeah I'm going to work on my database this weekend...

Not to completion, no. Many of them I only played a bit (such is the story of most gamers and their backlog). But having the variety to choose from is nice. Never know what you're in the mood to play. Sometimes I may not touch a game for years then one day fire it up.

Been limiting my digital purchases to only the top shelf games I really want. And no indies unless they're creme de la creme, otherwise they pile up too fast. Physical collection is a lot larger. Usually I get a game physically, and only if I really like it do I grab it digital also.

One of these days they'll release a 2TB micro SD. Switch generation may be over by that point but at least it'll serve to consolidate multiple 1TB micro SD cards.

@JaxonH I must say I’m looking forward to the 2TB but I’m getting along ok switching between them. If I had some free time I’d actually organize them but my internet is midling at best so that would take days. I’ve got another 600 GB left so I can be a bit free with what I buy for now. Did a quick count and minus demos and anything I have deleted because I beat it I’m at 482 (titles that doesn’t count games that are multiple packs) so I hope the system doesn’t have some sort of limit because I might be getting close.
