Why Genesis games? Saturn or Dreamcast would have been awesome.

Genesis, though? Genesis games are on everything. My toaster can probably play Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Jack Black as Bowser is perfect. Good cast all around.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is HYPE! If they can't bring the new one that's cool- it's a 5W handheld after all, so just give us the original in HD. And that's EXACTLY what they're doing. Muah! Handheld hybrid, as it should be!

Bayonetta 3 FINALLY revealed! Ooohweee it feels good! I have high expectations for this one. I'm confident it's going to outshine Bayonetta 2.

New 3D Kirby with spring release, MH Rise Ultimate Sunbreak sooner than expected for summer 2022, Splatoon 3 showcased with tons of new info, Castlevania GBA collection out now, Deltarune ch. 2 out now, Triangle Strategy with a March release date, Dying Light next month, Disco Elysium next month, Voice of Cards next month (and honestly, I'm not usually into card games but this one looks really good)... with some other games and updates. And of course, N64 and Genesis. I was thinking, "not subbing unless I see F-Zero X... no F-Zero no buy". And the 10 didn't have it, but then boom! They show it as a game being added after. Done. Sold. Gotta have it. Triangle Strategy looking better than ever with a March release, Chocobo GP may have potential (jury's still out on that one but I'll keep an open mind), and Rune Factory 5 with a March release (lot of March releases, eh?).

Ya. I'm really happy with that Direct. My big takeaways are

1 Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
2 Bayonetta 3
3 Splatoon 3
4 Star Wars KOTOR
5 3D Kirby

Obviously I'm happy about other stuff too, like the card game, Castlevania collection, N64, Disco Elysium, etc. But if I had to narrow it down to the top 5, those would be it.

KOTOR was unexpected...perhaps I'll finish it now. (I now have hopes for Jade Empire), Bayo was expected but I'm just happy it will shut down the folks that have been screaming about it, Triangle Strategy looks great, kirby will be welcome. I am happy most of the new stuff is next year so that means my BF cart didn't grow too much. Works for me!

Chocobo Kart has come at a perfect time. The new Sonic racing was meh, Mario Kart 8 is 7 years old, Crash Team Racing is Activision. So yeah, bring on a quality competitor. I really hope its good.

@kkslider5552000 Sega treats Saturn/Dreamcast like Nintendo treats the GameCube and new Sony treats anything Japanese. I don't get it.

Chocobo GP could be good if it has a proper campaign. That's the biggest thing in CTR's favor.

Wreckfest seems to be getting zero coverage from anyone, but that seems like a plus in my book, if it has a physical release.

Bayo 3 trailer was a lot of fun. Kirby is an essential. I had a good time.

But I think Nintendo might get a bit of an awakening by adding N64 as an extra tier. I can't see that many people bothering with it, particularly as the number of games initially available seems fairly limited, and the new controller is expensive.

And what is going on with the way they're promoting Splatoon 3? It seems to 'speak' to the hardcore splatter, but I find it a bit of a turn-off.

@gcunit Its the same way they promoted Splatoon 2 and it got over 10m units. Methinks they're fine.

Nintendo Switch is a very special system.

Not only can it play games on the tv, handheld, and in tabletop, but it’s the only console I know of where they have so many controller options. You wanna play NES games? Sure. And here’s an authentic NES controller that’s wireless. Wanna play SNES? Go ahead. And here’s an authentic SNES controller that’s wireless with USB-C. Wanna play N64? We got you. And here’s an authentic N64 controller. Wanna play Genesis? No problem. And here’s an authentic Sega controller.

That’s really awesome. Not to mention the split joycon, joycon in a grip, sideways joycon, pro controller, and gyro for nearly every game that can use it.

Btw, tried Diablo 2. It’s a top tier Switch port. Looks excellent. Plays super smooth. They killed it with this one.

About to jump into the card game demo, Castlevania collection and Mario Golf update.
