SICK BURRRNNN ! ! !

@-SD- @SLIGEACH_EIRE I could totes see a Luigi's Mansion with a greater multiplayer focus. You would run your own office similar to the Ghostbusters and answer house calls, manage funds and resources and research ghosts and equipment.

@gcunit I dunno, but the evidence points to the new kinda Mario being in too early in development - aside from rumors of there being one at launch.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Ehh.. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a some kind of a loyalty program, but the specifics of that rumor sound total bunk.

Hey guys, I had a little bit of spare time and made my own list of games for the NX, and some whishful thinking. What do you guys think? I'm going to stick to the March 2017 launch date of the NX.

Spring: Super Smash Bros. for NX (Wii U Remaster/Complete Edition, bundle with the last 3 amiibo)
Summer: WarioWare, Super Mario Maker NX (With new additions, to keep the online community alive)
Fall: Final Fantasy VII Remake (With Cloud amiibo functionality), Sonic (uhm...fingers crossed for this one)
Winter: Super Mario NX (New 3D platformer), Animal Crossing NX (New real follow up to New Leaf)

2018:

Spring: Mario Kart 9, Monster Hunter 5, Bravely 3
Summer: Splatoon 2, Kirby, Beyond Good and Evil 2
Fall: Dragon Quest XI, Bayonetta 3, Darksiders III, Kingdom Hearts 3
Winter: Pokémon, Metroid Prime IV, Mario Party 11

2019:

Spring: Fire Emblem, Mario & Luigi 6, Star Fox
Summer: Yoshi, Pikmin 4

Don't shoot the messager. While that story above sounds like a load of codswallop, I do think Wii U owners should be given some form of compensation similar to the Ambassador Programme that initial 3DS owners got.

SLIGEACH_EIRE

FragRed

@SLIGEACH_EIRE That makes sense. Didn't Iwata once say that you cannot launch a new console unless the owners of the current system are happy? So some kind of compensation or reward for upgrading wouldn't be a bad idea. That is also a good way to potentially get a lot of people buying day one.

It's just wishful thinking. I can see there being some discounts and deals relating to My Nintendo. They won't be anywhere near as big as that. More likely we'll finally get some proper cross-generational deals. Own these VC games on 3DS and/or Wii U? Here's a download for NX! That I could believe (and really, it should happen)

NX is already missing out Red Dead Redemption 2 it seems, as is PC. Guess which side is already attacking people.

Still it means Rockstar aint too keen on NX, but the sky is blue and Bethesda cant fix bugs so the world is normal.

@MarcelRguez Even better, Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. Definitely an underappreciated title.

Well, I have over 100 games on my Wii U (digital) and I am hoping, if true, that I own all the qualifying games lol

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Octane

Nearly all of my Wii U games are physical, there's no way they can check whether I actually own them or not. Therefore, I'm not hopeful for any kind of reward system for Wii U owners. Maybe some sort of early adopters rewards.

I second the thing @skywake said, but I won't be surprised if that doesn't happen. Their current account system is a mess and I don't see how that would translate to discounts on the NX. Most of your stuff is tied to the system and not your account.

That's actually false, in a way (or else how was I able to transfer all my purchases from my old 3DS to my current 2DS?). Your purchases aren't linked to the system, but in order to get all your purchases on another system you're going to have to give Nintendo a call to authorize the transfer... which is cumbersome, honestly. That and the fact that any and all save data you had will be missed goodbye.

God first.

@Octane
They know what your purchases are. If they didn't things like this couldn't exist:
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/09/multiple_discount_op...

Though there are issues with the way Nintendo has set it up. OlliOlli offered full cross-buy across 3DS and Wii U. However if you brought it on Wii U? All NNIDs linked to the Wii U "owned" that game. Which meant you could potentially download a copy for free on more than one 3DS. So there are quirks.

Nintendos account system is just barely a competent one. You still have to call them of you wanna transfer your stuff just like you had to before they even implemented it. They still have a ton of work to do with their online infrastructure.

TuVictus

Octane

@Vee_Flames @skywake If you're talking about digital, you're right. Nintendo knows the games you've purchased while using your NNID. However, they aren't able to tell that I own a physical copy of Pikmin 3. They could verify that I have save data for Pikmin 3 on my Wii U, but I could've easily borrowed the game from someone else. This alone prevents them from doing anything like that made-up rumour.

That being said, they could do something for digital-only games. I just doubt that they'll even do something along the lines of an ambassador's program for Wii U owners. I don't really see it happening unfortunately.

@Operative
I'm pretty damn sure you don't have to call them for transferring over content. Unless the 3DS you're transferring from was lost or damaged. That bureaucracy exists so they stop people from exploiting the system. But if you buy a new 3DS and just want to move your stuff over? If you have an internet connection it'll let you do it. And they do know what content you've purchased.

@Octane
I honestly think that the "rumour" posted on the other page is pure fantasy. I also hope that they'll do cross-buy for VC but I'm not holding my breath for that either. I just hope they do and I don't see any obvious technical reason why they can't. Frankly I'd be ok with them charging a $1 VC transfer fee per game if that's what it takes to stop people exploiting any loopholes, known or otherwise, that might exist.

TuVictus

@skywake yeah that's what I'm referring to. If you lose or damage your hardware. Which is the whole point. I can log onto any other ps4, Mark it as my main, and download all my content. The reason Nintendos bureaucracy exists is specifically to navigate their failings.

@skywake I know it's fake, but I was just pointing out that their current system doesn't even allow for something like that. I really hope Nintendo embraces the modern features with the NX: Games tied to your NNID, cloud saving, carrying over previously purchased games, etc. They've got brilliant engineers and programmers at Nintendo, but some of their stuff is sometimes completely backwards and outdated.

What the heck?

But as far as my contribution to the current debate ITT goes I'd be happy to be the person who points out (having spent many hours on both the Xbox One and PS4) that the current bar for 'console gaming infrastructure' is very, very low. It's definitely higher than the mess the Wii U is/was, but I ain't having it that there's only work to be done on Nintendo's side as far as these things are concerned and that there's a good standard that only Nintendo aren't a part of. I could easily rant at how toss both of the other consoles are in this regard, but anyone who has owned one should be able to recognise that.

I mean neither of them have any sort of basic refund system set up for God's sake, and Sony have just this month launched an add on to their console that could make users randomly ill from game-to-game and you're basically SOL if you bought a PSVR game digitally that makes you ill.

And that's not even getting into the recent rumblings on Neogaf that Sony ban users from contacting customer support who've already received a refund!

All 3 need major improvements in my opinion.

Shinion

TuVictus

Well yeah, I don't think many people would argue there's improvements to be done. But you can't deny there are basic things that Sony/MS do that Nintendo isn't even close to yet. If anything it just goes to show how sadly far behind Nintendo is in nearly every regard in terms of infrastructure.

@Ichi Please take this with the absolute utmost sincerity dude because it's nothing against you or anything but what you just typed was a load of rubbish.

I don't want to derail the thread, albeit it's gone off on a tangent anyway, but there's so much wrong with what you said that it would necessitate a rant of the highest order. I'd be happy to do so believe me but this isn't the place.

Just put it this way- there's already been one game released that got an 8/10 review from one outlet, but got called one of the worst games ever and was impossible to play for another reviewer without being sick. And to show the randomness and disparities between user experiences even more those same two reviewers had their roles reversed for RIGS, the former said it was motion sickness inducing and gave it a 6, whilst the latter thought it was great and rated it 8.5 and was able to play for hours without issue.

So yeah, even just looking at that the problem is obvious. And no the solution isn't just to say- "whelp this garbage game made me throw up, better return the VR, PS4 and my car and anything else that moves because it's clear I am the problem ASAP and not question anyone else or expect better from games that make me literally throw up and ill, my word next ill be expecting refunds for games that don't even work properly hahahaha can you imagine? What even are refunds anyway? I mean, I don't wanna be called a thief by other people for getting a refund of a game that crashed on me 6 times in just over an hour like that one guy did with No Man's Sky. There is literally no difference between an actual thief and therefore a criminal and someone who got a legitimate refund when it comes to overhyped video games that some people like and so I dare not risk inclurring their wrath by even daring to suggest that games that make people ill after 10 minutes are rubbish and should lead to a refund. I mean, it's not like there are literally any other businesses ever that will happily refund you if you just walk up to them with a receipt and say "didn't like it". That is absolutely unheard of, and in the space of 'AAA' video games you best be damn sure that you had a near death experience before you expect the most basic of customer service."

Je-sus-weeps.

Edit: I just read what you said even more and you're saying that you should get refunds because you get motion sickness when traveling by car and... what? Seriously what? Qué? Pourquoi? * insert Something else expressing utter disbelief at absolute nonsense in another language here? *

Edit 2: Yes I turned it into a rant because I re-reread that comment and it is one of the most mind bogglingly stupid things I've ever read so I felt a rant was necessary. I only need now for you to confirm you were being serious or even partly for me to have one of the biggest belly laughs in my life.

I mean only in 'AAA' video games will their be people willing to bat against the basic consumer right of a refund and argue for the requirement of a doctor permission or some nonsense. You know, the same industry where EA can just release a completely broken game and get away with a "sorry it'll never happen again we swear!".

'AAA video games' ladies and gentlemen... How I love 'em.
