@Heavyarms55 I don't believe that kind of stuff isn't done on purpose in most cases. Advertising that's purposely confusing at a glance because a few extra dollars is still a few extra dollars.

The Borderlands Handsome Collection has been a thing for years, on multiple platforms. Switch simply got a "Legendary Collection" that combined the Handsome Collection with the first game. I don't think that was some sinister 4D chess move to scam a few dollars. There's Borderlands, there's the Handsome Collection that has been on all platforms and contains Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel, and there's the new Legendary Collection that combines both.

@JaxonH I don't think it was meant to scam anyone no, but I do think it was a tad confusing. I claim full responsibility for not paying closer attention.

After a whopping three days, my new 1TB SD Card is now nice and crammed full of all the games and updates and DLC from my Switch, now replacing my 400GB card.
I only have 407GB of space left free. From the initial 953GB, that's 546GB used. Wow.
Now Playing: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Crash Bandicoot 4
Save data cloud, Transferring users and Transferring save data are all affected. Maybe the save backup for Animal Crossing is coming with the July update?
So, I have my Switch set up for video recording that I never do. But its done in a way where if I don't connect it to my laptop, the game does not show up on my tv. So because of that and my laziness towards wanting to keep consistently move my laptop and plug it in a very inconvenient place, I've started finally using handheld mode regularly.
While I'm always gonna be more of a console than handheld guy, god is handheld mode way better for me than 3DS was. 3DS seemed to be designed to specifically annoy me, it feels like. Between how much my hands hurt playing any of the more quicker paced, or action oriented games and the 3D where I had to strain my neck to use it well and the library that was often underwhelming or not for me...Switch is so much better than that. I dunno if anyone else had the same issues, but 3DS really did get on my nerves at points, and I'm much happier using it for shorter play sessions before bed nowadays. Whereas Switch is just a cool handheld I'm enjoying a lot, even if I ultimately prefer docked mode.
shame about the death of dual screen gaming though. Needing to pause to see the map has been an outdated design since the DS released in 2004, hope it comes back someday.
Motion controls were just patched into Star Wars Racer. I thought I was losing my mind.

Welcome to the 1TB club! After a while it’ll feel like a bare minimum necessity rather than a luxury.

Idk if 3DS bothered me that much, but the low res did. When Switch released it was a revelation. And Switch Lite- I never knew a handheld could feel so comfortable.

@JaxonH Seeing how I've used 550GB already, it was already a necessity. Some of my larger games are physical like Bioshock, Borderlands and Mortal Kombat and yet they STILL end up being the biggest installs over my digital only copies of DOOM, Spyro and Smash.

Digital, looking at my installs, I see Mortal Kombat at like 31GB, Final Fantasy X/X-2 at 27GB, Resident Evil Revelations 2 at 24GB, Borderlands games, Bioshock games, etc. So many games over 20GB. Adds up quick. Was so desperate to squeeze blood out of a turnip I bought extra physical carts of Witcher 3 to keep in the card slot at all times for my v2 Switch and my Switch Lite, just to save an extra 30GB on the micro SD.
I’m already 1TB full and halfway through my second. But you can grab these and keep an extra tucked in the kickstand. Doesn’t even have to be another 1 TB, could just be your old 400GB card.

Even though the bulk of my Switch collection is physical, I still have 260GB+ of patches and updates eating space on my microsd card. Post-patching, a blessing and a curse of modern gaming. It allows developers to extend the bug fixing and quality control portion of game development, but it also allows developers to be lazy. With some not even following through with post-patching and simply being content with shipping a hasty, sloppy product.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,260 games (as of June 15th, 2024)

I’m starting to think they’re not gonna release a larger size card for a good while. It feels like they’re going to start transitioning over to SD express, which gets read speeds of basically 1,000 mbps (for comparison, mechanical hard drives and current SD Switch uses hit around 100 mbps, SSD hit around 600 mbps and NVMe SSD hit 1,000 - 3,000 mbps depending on the model).
That’s the future of portable storage. Surely Switch 2 will utilize SD Express. They’ll have to. Otherwise it could be 2030 and we’d still be using 100 mbps sd cards at the end of next gen.
In the meantime though I really hope they hit us with the 1.5 TB or even 2 TB cards. I’m just not sure if that’s going to actually happen now. They usually announce a new card every year and, it’s going on 2 years since the 1TB cards were first announced.

Random but Activision really needs to put a COD on switch. I’ve tried all the clones that are available and I just can’t get into them. I’m trying though. It’s rough.
Figured I'd check out the UK version of the Mii fighter costume trailer and it shows a release date of June 30th, not June 29th. This means Min Min and the Mii fighter costumes go live early morning for UK, late evening for US, etc. so don't expect it to arrive for around another 28 hours.
@JaxonH I think the newest version of the spec (8.0) they announced last month is up to 4000 Mbps, though who knows when cards will actually reach that. But yeah, on par with top-level NVMe. That would be huge since it would put the Switch 2's data transfer rate above XBSX and almost on par with PS5.
