It's possible that the Jimquisition podcast will be right after all. That the NX will never be revealed, it'll simply show up on store shelves one day and you will be expected to buy it sight unseen, discovering it while opening the box in your living room. It'll be a magical adventure.
They also posited that it'll be called the Nintendo Wiiwoowaawaa, so that's probably correct as well.
@dtjive I agree. VR is still niche and not a direct threat to Nintendo (unless the NX is the new Virtual Boy).
Sony will sell a couple millions on this holiday season to tech enthusiasts, make a tidy profit, call it a day never to think about it again, much like they use to do with their peripherals.
Nintendo should not be scared of showing off its product by now, unless they lack confidence on its own merits and that would be telling.
And I cannot stress enough that even more vital than the reveal, is that they stick to the release date they announced. No more delays, their leighway for them is quite diminished on my opinion.
The potential loss of Wii U / 3DS sales is probably lower than what they will loose to the competition if they don't announce it this year. So I don't think that's an issue at all. Not sure what's going on, but the situation is pretty grim. I basically have a Nintendo console collecting dust on my shelf; with the only upcoming release in sight being Paper Mario. And not to hate on that game, as I think it actually looks pretty awesome, but this is not a good situation to be in for any console manufacturer.
I don't see the NX harming Wii U/3DS sales anyways. For the 3DS, there will be some super aggressive holiday deals (in fact, revealing the NX beforehand may lead to more aggressive deals in order to clear stock), with the 2DS in particular going for really low - I could see it being as low as $40 on Black Friday, the price of a 3DS game. NX or no NX, that's a killer deal. As for the Wii U, what sales are there to harm?
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
Hi everyone , I will wish your opinion on my prototype
Prototype of Nintendo NEXT ( NX) .
◾In tablet mode is independent of the plant and can be used in portrait mode for Nintendo applications.
◾In the living room mode, placed on the base by playing with a joystick or with the tablet, the video and audio signal between the base and the tablet has no son .
◾The base is an induction charger for the tablet.

Some errors in the video, but it's just to ask a design idea , unpretentious
good viewing.
@koje21 As I said before, you can put that link in your signature - Octane
I come up with Nintendo's new name we need beyond reasonable patience.
The NX is called the we are late at everything and we are leaving the home console market.

Well, I obviously am not the masses, but you can count at least one person who isn't buying a 3DS until I learn what the heck the NX is. I'm scared I'm going to spend a couple hundred bucks on a 3DS and a couple games, and then the NX will be revealed the next week and be all like: "Surprise! It's basically a high-powered portable!"
Do you know what?
I think that the statements given by the Pokémon Company and Ubisoft CEOs in these interviews are actually part of the official advertisement/press strategy of Nintendo. They first start to give statements and endorsement about the console via proxy before revealing and presenting the thing and its games.
@MarcelRguez Yeah, the statements are pretty general and they mostly talk about other things in the interviews, so maybe it is what you said. It just feels so backwards to hear praise and comments about a thing that we know absolutely nothing about officially!
Talk is cheap. Ubisoft created only 1 unique and exclusive game on Wii U, namely ZombiU. Rayman Legends was supposed to be the same but see how quickly they changed that to multiplatform. ZombiU had a limited budget and a short development. A sequel could have achieved so much more.
I like how most of the mockups match basically what I think it is. But are then followed by a bunch of people getting really picky about the rendering. Or like specific shapes of plastic. "That's not good at all, the NX shouldn't have that specific sheen or connector"
It's literally the eurogamer thing in pictures. Same idea, same whine in response
@AlternateButtons While I'm not at all convinced about the detachable controller idea, I would like for them to go back to the octagon shaped analogue stick holes.
