@Octane Super metal dave and go nintendo have audio from the investors meeting. I called bs on Nintendo life doing research since they are part of the same wider company as euro gamer. That and article was ramming nvidia and their stock market from the wording.
@Grumblevolcano ARM can do it. It's just a question of what the best solution is to make the concept work.

@Grumblevolcano Well, Nintendo is currently hiring for two retail lead positions; one for dedicated handheld and one for dedicated home consoles. Why would you do that if you're going to merge the two? There's something fishy about all these NX rumours. From the start they've been saying A, but Nintendo has always been pointing to B. Just it it was almost guaranteed that it would release this year.
@Octane Well given the comment about absorbing the Wii U, maybe the first year or so of NX is also available on Wii U. So like there were rumours about Smash, Super Mario Maker, etc. NX ports working with the Wii U versions (cross gen play).
@Grumblevolcano Sure, or it's the most simple answer; the NX is a home console that will replace the Wii U and not the 3DS. We know that it'll get console ports and if you consider Nintendo's financial forecast, there's no mention of the 3DS declining even further. They are actually predicting the opposite of what would happen if you replace the 3DS this financial year.
@BLPs Thanks. Seems indeed that Nvidia has no plans for the gaming industry, it's all about AI and self-driving car technology.
@Octane So this raises a question. Has the wider network been on the mushrooms or are they just click baiting. I know Damon was certain of terrace but nvidia has shot that down.

I'm back to thinking it's a home console again.Everything was pointing to it being a home console before these Eurogamer rumours emerged.I was surprised as well as disappointed when they did emerge and with how confident they sounded I had no reason to doubt them. There might still be some truth to them but now I think they've got a lot of it wrong and are going to look rather foolish come the reveal.I hope so anyway.
@Lzeon Still ten times more than the upcoming Wii U games
No, but honestly, there's stuff like Ever Oasis, there's that Digimon game that got announced recently. Monster Hunter Stories? There's at least some noteworthy stuff for early 2017. Even if that system is winding down, I can definitely see it live a little longer than March.
I'm not saying the 3DS won't be replaced next year, but I'm not so sure anymore if the Nx is one system that will replace both (at the same time). There could very be two systems that will replace either of them; the Wii U in March and the 3DS later that year for example.
Regardless of what the NX is I will be purchasing it. Although I am hoping it will lean towards a home console rather than a handheld unit. I think it all depends on who Nintendo is trying to market it more towards. If it's the Japanese market then its more likely to be a handheld as Japan loves to play games on the go and home consoles really don't do as well over there as they do in the states.
Yeah, 2 (Color Splash, Breath of the Wild) vs. 3 (Star Rush, Ever Oasis, Sun/Moon) isn't much difference. Not to mention that Star Rush copies artwork from a Spaghettios can.
First party stuff has always been minimal on the handhelds. I mean, we got Kirby this year and Fire Emblem. But most of Nintendo's in-house studios work on home console games. The handhelds often rely heavily on third party and other outsourced studios. If the Wii U can ''survive'' a year with almost no games, then I'm sure the 3DS can survive on a year with relatively little support from Nintendo too. I'm not saying that this is what will happen, but looking at what we know, it doesn't look like it's going to turn out how we envisioned it last week. I'm just looking for possible scenarios.
@Lzeon True, and again, I'm not trying to argue that the 3DS won't be replaced next year. However, I wonder how much sense it makes to release two systems at the same time if they are going to release a separate handheld and home console—even if they will share most of their library. If either of the two is being replaced at a later date, then my bets are on the 3DS.
