@IceClimbers It's nowt new. Street Fighter V had 16 characters at launch. It's no to about 34 now I think?

Dark Souls is going to be $40.

Strap in and call me Bob Barker, because the price is right.

@GrailUK Yes but Street Fighter V didn't have a cast where most of the characters are reused assets...

I'm waiting on Dark Souls Switch to see if it fixes the problems with the original. I'm not usually one to complain about framerates but it sounds like the original's framerate is so low in some areas it's borderline unplayable.

@Kimyonaakuma Ye, that's a fair point.

Lost Sphear in 10 days. 2 weeks later and it's Dragon Quest Builders. Week later it's Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2. Payday 2 is also around that time.

Week or two later it's March, and time for Kirby Star Allies... couple weeks later it's Hyrule Warriors. Or vise versa, can't remember.

Couple weeks later and it's April, which is when I think Mario Tennis Aces releases, since it's the only month without at least 1 confirmed 1st party title, and it fits the spring window.

Couple weeks after that it's DKC Tropical Freeze! One of my all time favorites! 3 weeks after that, it's Dark Souls Remastered on Switch. Hoo-rah. Half to squeeze in Street Fighter Collection cause it falls smack dab in between those two powerhouses.

And... by that point it'll be the countdown to E3. Of course summer and fall will be packed. Y's VIII should be releasing around that time also.

We've already got more 1st party exclusives in the pipeline than we saw for the entirety of 2017, and 2017 was packed. With 7 confirmed new games coming and 4 ports that we know of, and that's as of the second week in the new year. Still have yet to see the spring Direct, E3 or the fall announcements.

@JaxonH Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition doesn't have a release date yet outside Japan though judging by the Japan release date it's likely April for the rest of the world.

@JaxonH I'm happy with that lineup!
I've only just bought a Switch in the last couple of weeks so I can catch up while everyone is busy with the Wii U ports that I played years ago.

Not sure which ports I'll buy though, we'll see!

@Kimyonaakuma
Allow me to recommend DKC Tropical Freeze. Honestly, I have alot of games I love, but this is, by a landslide, the best 2D platformer of all time. It's that good.

It's crazy how the reception to this game has changed now that people have played it and see how good it is. It got shafted in some reviews at a time when the general public was unhappy with Nintendo, and even more unhappy to see DKC instead of Metroid, but it's got a cult following with countless others who will tell you the same thing I'm telling you now- it's the best 2D platformer ever made.

Also, Bayonetta 2.

Tropical Freeze probably would've got shafted a second time if Prime 4 wasn't announced last E3.

@Grumblevolcano But we already know Retro is not working on Prime 4, so I still don't understand why people were complaining back in the day. They made three Metroid games, but a second DKC game (and arguably the best platformer in decades) was too much? And it somehow made the game less good? I also believe that Returns sold more than all of the Prime games sold combined, which was another reason to give that franchise a go. And it was Retro Studios themselves who wanted to do another DKC game after Returns. If someone would still complain about the Retro, Metroid and DKC after the Tropical Freeze port, he/she is simply insane

@JaxonH When you put it like that then wow, we're going to be really busy on our Switch's. I've still to play Skyrim and LA Noire,another 2 big time killers. Then the top drawer indies I already have but have yet to play, titles like Steamworld Dig 2,The Next Penelope Oxenfree and Lumo. Plus the 4 horror games I mentioned earlier that will be out this quarter. I just bought The Escapists 2 and that looks like it will be another huge time sink for me, once I get to grips with it anyway.

Yep DKTF is as good as platforming gets. Platformers are my favourite genre and while I wouldn't say it's my number 1 of all time, it's right up there behind Yoshi's Island and Super Mario World.

@Octane Well I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happened regarding Kid Icarus Uprising being announced before Smash 4. It's a simple case of a franchise's fanbase getting desperate for a new game.

Octane

@Grumblevolcano Those people are reading into that stuff way too much. I don't think those games are even made by the same team. Same director, but Sakurai can direct multiple games at the same time. That's even more true now that Nintendo doesn't really have separate teams anymore. All their in-house developed games are credited under Nintendo EPD since the merger of their divisions in 2015.

The only retail titles I have so far are Odyssey, DB Xenoverse 2, Xenoblade 2, and MK8D, so between what's coming (never had a Wii U) and what I haven't yet played, there's more on Switch than I'll ever be able to play, lol.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

@RR529
For a person like you, it must be insane. Good luck haha!

For me, I'm definitely not getting Hyrule Warriors again. I liked it, but not enough to buy again. DK: Tropical Freeze I might buy, though. I enjoyed it on the Wii U but never really scraped it o the bottom, so we'll see.

But Kirby's gonna be awesome. That'll be fun to play with my wife. And if the new Mario Tennis is a return to form, I'm going to put hundreds of hours into that (the N64 tennis was probably my most-played game with my friends). And yea... I never actually played Dark Souls, so I'm excited.

That's not even considering the new Yoshi, and have we heard anything about Octopath Traveler?
