@Operative2-0 It looks like the app is optional as you can seemingly transfer and control rooms from your phone too, likely for quick mutes etc.

@Strix That Breath of the Wild 'theme' was just a commonly available wallpaper. There was no accompanying change in sound, nor any music, nothing changed apart from the background, which is easy to fake. Is anyone going to pay for a theme as half-hearted as that?

I've been playing Guns, Gore & Canolli which I think is great fun. Just saw some new footage from the sequel and it looks superb. It looks like there's a lot more variety and the game play looks genuinely brilliant. I really hope this will be coming to Switch too.

@gcunit Well, it is Nintendo. They could've done it halfheartedly. Another explanation was that it's a test theme that is not yet completed.

I think it's fake but the contents are the kind of stuff I'd expect from Nintendo given their decision to make online a paid subscription.

It said in that leak that this next Direct will be basically Nintendo's E3. I have thought that for a while, and said as much on here that the next Direct will be a monster. I did say it would 100% happen by December though which was foolish of me but still, I'm going into this Direct expecting big things to come from it. Perhaps that's foolish of me again but my thinking is, the Switch presentation and reveal of loads of major games that would be coming throughout 2017 was a major success for them. I'm guessing they'll want to take the same approach for this year. Reveal several major games for the entire year and fill out that infographic. Nintendo like their infographics.

We have to get a Smash for Switch port. This didn't really work for Wii U but for Switch almost all third party characters have games coming this year! It's like the stars are aligning lol.
Megaman - gets loads of megaman games.
Pac-man - Namco museum and Pac-man Championship 2 later.
Sonic - Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces
Ryu - SF2 Ultra and SF Anniversary later
Bayonetta - 1/2 and 3 later
Cloud - hmmmm...

@OorWullie I totally agree with you and I do not think it is foolish of you to go into this expecting big things. Baring in mind that with Sony, we know what is coming out this year more or less due to how they announce games so far in advance. With Nintendo, we know about Kirby, Yoshi, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 1 & 2 and a couple of other games that have slipped my mind. The thing is, apart from Bayonetta 1 & 2 which are ports, we don't know a lot about the games that have been so far announced.

Plus if Nintendo really wants to shift another 20 million during the 2019 fiscal year, they need big surprises.

I don't think the Direct will be THE big event of the year, but it will be A big event.

They'll heavily invest time into games coming out the first half of the year (a few of which we don't know about, I'm sure), along with a few teases about what's coming later.

Meanwhile, E3 will heavily focus on what's coming out in the second half of the year, with a few teases of games coming out beyond that.

So, pretty much what they've been doing.

@GrailUK I hadn't thought about that but the third party characters do have Switch games already except Cloud, but Square has a few games coming already. So a port would make sense and fill out the schedule.

Would they added any extras though? The original was already 1080p/60fps so I don't really much room for major technical improvements. I'd expect all of the DLC to be included along with some of the 3DS content, but I'm not sure if they would add anything completely new...

I think the Squid Sisters and Max Brass would be good additions if they were to add more as they are related to the Switch already. But maybe they should wait until Smash 5 to include BotW, Splatoon and Arms.

@Kimyonaakuma I would be fine with a DX Smash with a few extra characters. If I was to completely make something up, then I would suggest Snake back in the roster with Konami announcing a Metal Gear Rebirth game (MSX not PS1 game). Actually...that's not a half bad prediction so I'll go with it lol.
