We don't know that Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 was the only thing revealed at the event. It takes time to port big games. Let's wait until E3, at least, before we start crying about a lack of support from them.

At this point my rule is to assume the worst.

That way if nothing happens Im not disappointed and if it does Im surprised.

Hey, UK eShop time to see how those third party games (Which includes Nindies) are doing.

So usual suspects at the top, a new Nindie game in the charts, Yooka-Laylee doing decently, usual suspects in the middle. Mario + Rabbids and MK8D seem to stick around, and Skyrim and RE are doing well at the bottom.

No sign of DOOM, FIFA or NBA though.

Yeah, to be fair, I do see some wildly optimistic predictions flying around on these forums from time time to time! ..for example, hoping that we'll get Pokémon Switch or Metroid Prime 4 next year is one thing, but expecting them to come in 2018 is quite another - such people are, I fear, setting themselves up for a fall. Same with Smash Bros - just because something would 'make sense' doesn't mean that it's definitely going to happen in the next 12 months...I'm sure that there'll be more than has been confirmed up to now, but I certainly think it's more wise to keep expectations modest and take the pleasant surprises as and when they come..

If Pokémon/MP4/Smash do come, then great! ..but don't be disappointed if they don't, because it's only your overactive hype glands that have led you to believe otherwise!

@YummyHappyPills Skyrim has had a good run and I expect it'll be a game we see hang around the charts for a good while yet, even if it exits the top 15 from time to time. RE and Worms also seems to have done not too badly. Strangely RER1 seems to have done better than the sequel. Other than the top 2,the charts have changed drastically in the last 3 days due to the big sale. Steamworld Dig 2's discount has saw it jump up to 3rd after not even being in the charts for a long time. Mario v Rabbids discount has also clearly helped it climb the charts.

If I was to guess I'd say the most successful download only games so far have been, in this order

Stardew Valley
Rocket League (soon to take 1st place)
Overcooked
Sonic Mania
Steamworld Dig 2

As for Bandai Namco support, I'm not sure why you would conclude that this one game is all they've got in store for Switch. There could be several more we hear about over the next few weeks. One thing's for certain though, any "huge" announcements are going to be made in a Direct.

@OorWullie For sure Skyrim will stick around, if only because Todd Howard and his evil twin Hodd Toward keep selling it to people!

Revelations 2 was more expensive, probably be why. Bigger too. Digital only here, both of them.

What I am shocked about is DAMN did Stardew Valley explode here in the UK. Rocket League too! Xenoblade is also doing far better than I expected.

Interestingly I saw in the US Zelda is in the charts, but not so here.

@YummyHappyPills I think crossplay with XB1 and PC really helped the Switch version of Rocket League.

The 21st is looking like a rather good, meaty and expensive day on the Eshop.

and the new addition Bloody Zombies, which looks bloody brilliant. An old school beat em up with online multiplayer up to 4 players. It was well received on PS4 where it released a couple of months ago,it received a few 8/10's.Only £10.99.

So February has quietly been filled out. Got DQ Builders on February 9th, Bayonetta 1+2 on the 16th, Pac-Man CE2+ on the 22nd, and Payday 2 on the 27th. That's a nice framework for the month, and there's sure to be plenty of indie releases to fill in the gaps, including the confirmed Owlboy.

That February date is a MUCH more favorable release date for Bayo 2 than it's late October release on Wii U. 2014 may be considered a weaker year overall, but people were still focusing their cash on major AAA releases during October. There's a lot less competition overall for the Switch release, and it's releasing on a larger install base (Wii U hit 9.2 million units sold as of the end of December 2014, two months after Bayo 2's launch) that's rapidly growing.

@YummyHappyPills I'm with you on this one. Pacman isn't going to cut it with me either. You can't say you're all in and announce one game. I'll give them a little bit of time to come up with more before I jump ship.

@Spoony_Tech Given they had us do what is basically free advertising for a game, MULTIPLE TIMES, saying if you show you want it and spread the word then MAYBE, Im already past that point.

I mean Pac-Man is fine no doubt...but come on. Having Nintendo fans advertise your games for you multiple times with the promise if a maybe getting it....and then turning around and...its kinda evident its not happening. Thats more insidious than constantly "testing the market" by waiting for sales

Leak says they're releasing FFXIII trilogy on PS4, and a collection of Final Fantasy 1-9 on PS4 and... wait for it... the ******* Vita. Coming off the back of Secret of Mana, I think Square Enix is trolling at this point.

Just farting out games left and right for PS4 gamers... us poverty stricken Switch owners are humbly waiting for table scraps that fall on the floor. We think we finally have something.... Fat Man Square looks over and sees little Billy Switch quietly bend down and pick up a collection of old SNES games that had rolled off the 10 foot pile of PS4 releases... and happy for this one game he might get to play, starts to crack a smile... but Fat Man Square quickly snatches it from Billy Switch's feeble hands... and as he continues farting out games left and right for PS4, he reaches over to Vinny Vita's gravestone and tucks the Final Fantasy Collection underneath his cold, dead, bony skeleton fingers, just to spite Billy Switch.

Square.... you're killing me man.

@YummyHappyPills I think testing the market meant seeing what they can get away with. Why bother with a Dark Souls trilogy when Bomberman and Street Fighter proved you can charge full price for an arcade game?

No. Im not putting up with it now. Either they put up or shut up and I seriously want them to realise the Vita is done with now. Whats going to make them more money now?

The day Switch passes the Vita there becomes NO excuse.

I think a lot of it has to do with the relationship Nintendo has had with third parties in the past versus, say, Sony. You don't build a strong relationship within a few months. So that may explain why some are rather hesitant. Or maybe it's just cheaper and easier to chuck old ports at the PS4 and Xbox One and call it a day.

@YummyHappyPills The Vita has still a significantly bigger install-base in Japan. And maybe they already had most of these emulators and/or engines running on the Vita?

Like Okami HD, don't expect Capcom did that because they wanted to please their fans. It was a quick, cheap and dirty port. That's all there is to it.

@Octane Allow me to explain this.

A game going to PS4 and Vita would take more effort than PS4 and Switch, for one.

2, Vita has ehat, 16m sales since 2011? Switch is at 10m since March.

To put this into perspective imagine Wii U getting a FF Collection and PS4 didnt. Thats whats happening here.

Or better yet, if you havent had time, announce the Switch version at the same time. If it comes later it comes later, fine, BUT LET US KNOW AS CONSUMERS.

We can put up with late ports but late announcements are a real kick. The industry sees that first trsiler snd thats it. If it comes later its a poor selling footnote. And that doesnt help anyone.
