@Paraka Hm, fair enough I suppose. Personally, I don't like how Japan tends to keep a lot of games to itself. But eh, localization and all.

I'd say it's best they keep world-wide in mind, as it's bound to be international regardless. We already know the direct for Japan will be 50 minutes as opposed to our 45 minutes, for example, which strikes me odd, going towards "favouring" Japan with some extra news.

It would be nice if more of their games got English patches (Eh MHXX) it would make importing worth while.

A SNES Remix-type surprise?

The iron for SNES nostalgia will never be hotter than it will for the next 6-8 weeks.

@UmniKnight - it's also based culture marketing. Where we in EU and NA get a variety of games ourselves, so do they. Hell a good sum of out Rock Band and Guitar Hero never reached that region, and in turn we never got Taiko Drum Master.

@Paraka True, but I'm more talking about the kind of games that arguably would've been well received here, like that Seiken Densetsu collection.

The whole time difference might be a similar language phenomenon as seen with speed running. The German Direct is 43.367 minutes long!

@StuTwo Yeah, I think we'll see a 1st party eShop title for this fall. My guess is a new Pushmo.

Anyways, I do think we'll see a small Nindie section that talks about the bigger, high profile Nindies like Yooka Laylee and Hollow Knight (the devs for this were teasing news for this week).

Anyways, I'm gonna take a guess and say we see Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics announced for Q1 2018 for both Switch and 3DS.

I hope Mario & Sonic just goes away. Use that dev resource for something else. Unless Sega is making the games. Then I guess it's fine.

@JaxonH Sega does make them. As long as it's not positioned to be the "big" game for one of the months I won't mind if it comes. Even then I don't think it's too big of a deal.

@UmniKnight - I would assume it might have to do with what S-E perceives as "successful" for the series in the West based on previous sales ratios. Don't get me wrong, I feel that a localized version of the game would actually be big in EU and especially NA due to the retro nostalgia the Switch seems to emanate and the portability to play older, use-to-be-stationary games. That being said, S-E seems to oft have an abnormal sales expectations sometimes.

Mario & Sonic, it's one of those games that.. well, exists. I don't think I ever met anyone who deeply cares about them. There are probably more people that care about Knack...

@Tsurii To be fair there is only so much you can add to an Olympics based video game with each iteration. Though I would really love to see how eSports would be implemented into Mario & Sonic if they ever become a reality at the official games.

@Paraka Well, at any case, we'll get a good idea what to expect of the rest of the year's line-up. Really hoping there's some extra, since I won't be buying Odyssey, and I can see XC2 be disappointing.

If I delete gameupdates, will it corrupt my savefiles? As of right now I don't have a SD card yet, but say I want to transfer as much as possible to a SD card when I get one.

@UmniKnight - curious, why do you feel that Super Mario Odyssey will be disappointing? I can't say much about Xenoblade, because I feel they have been not needing their potential since their beginning.

@Samus7Killer - If that's true, then I am very curious to see that.

@Paraka @Tsurii Actually, that was a typo on my side. Rectified now. I'm sure Odyssey will be incredible, just that the conditions under which I'd find it enjoyable aren't present, and so I cannot warrant it's purchase. XC2 I am sceptical of due being iffy on the story.

Were thinking about retail games. Say I delete the update from Cave Story, and later rediwnload the update on a SD card, would the savefile be corrupt?
