Really wish but I know it won't happen. Konami brings out a full feature version of PES and actually calls out EA and market the games as the soccer game you SHOULD be buying for switch. I would love for this to happen and the game be a million plus seller. A man can dream.

EA is looking at a userbase that buys SF2 (again) for $50, or Bomberman for $50, so they think they're getting away with a gimped version too. I sometimes genuinely believe that their corporate business meetings are run by chimpanzees, but then I also believe that a group of chimpanzees would've made a decision that's less mind-boggling than the ones they end up on.
@Octane
People don't mind paying a strong price... as long as it's a solid game and not stripped of features. I bought both Bomberman R and Ultra Street Fighter. Bomberman I probably should've waited on- it's not as good as I thought, but Street Fighter I have no regrets.
But EA was clearly expecting Switch to fail. If they expected it to succeed, they would have gotten the Frostbyte engine running for future ports. They didn't make the effort because they didn't believe in the system. And now that Switch is selling like crazy, they look like fools for it.
Now look, I do think people are blowing things way out of proportion, looking for a reason to justify their choice to hate any game from EA. It's missing a mode, yes, but one less mode isn't going to make the game horrible. I think the people upset are people who were never going to buy it anyways. If a person truly, truly enjoys playing soccer video games, and owns a Switch, they're going to at least weigh whether they should buy FIFA 18 or not. It will unquestionably be the best handheld version of FIFA ever released, and that's gotta count for something.
Not justifying what EA has done, but at the same time I really don't like the trend I saw last generation where people ignored great games because of one small little thing that was wrong with it. Like, no local co op, which was the community's excuse to skip the excellent Splinter Cell (despite the fact 95% of them probably would've never played with that mode anyways), or not all the DLC for sale, or slightly lower frame rate, or whatever... it was a witchhunt to the bitter end. And I don't want to see the same thing happen here- FIFA 18 should be judged on its own merits, and Nintendo fans need to come to terms with the fact Switch is simply not as powerful as PS4.

@Grumblevolcano Skyrim definitely has some improvements over the 360 version. I think we can count on Bethesda to put some effort it.

I'm well aware that this is primarily a Nintendo website however, Sony have had a media field day today, as they often do a week before their E3 conference.
Time magazine was one of the handful of media outlets that were able to sit down and interview Shawn Layden (who is the President & CEO of SIE America). He was asked about the recent success of the Nintendo Switch and, to the interviewers surprise, he says that he doesn't see the Switch as a competitor, but as a worthwhile addition to the PlayStation 4:
Layden calls the Switch "a great success for Nintendo" and admits that "it's definitely what that fanbase has been waiting for." But he sees the system as less a rival than a complementary traveller, claiming that Switch sales have had no discernible impact on the sell-through for PlayStation 4.
"When you look at our numbers, I think it shows that a lot of gamers are a two-console family," he adds. "And quite often those two consoles are PlayStation and Nintendo sitting side-by-side."
@JaxonH I agree, seems like more and more people are looking for reasons not to buy a game then to actually buy games. Or as you put it were never going to buy it in the first place but acted like they were.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
@Peek-a-boo Well yeah, definitely. I mean even we, as a fanbase, and even Nintendo themselves say the same. About not being competitors, that is. In reality they all are competing against one another, but unfortunately Nintendo's consumer-base isn't exactly a threat to either of them. Maybe xbox after this generation if I'm being very generous. I definitely agree with them though, Sony + Nintendo is a good combo.
I'll still be picking up FIFA 18 on the Switch, but it's super disappointing to hear that the Switch version is lacking compared to other versions. And I'm pretty sure power's not the problem... more of a "let's play it safe" move by EA.
Oh well. Never cared for a Journey mode, anyway.
@MarcelRguez
Understood, but Switch is just as close to PS3/360 than it is PS4. Those systems are the least common denominator. Which means it isn't totally unreasonable to base the game off those versions, which the Switch will indeed have parity with.
Of course it's typical of EA to not invest any more than they feel they need to with Nintendo, and the lack of parity versus the current gen power consoles is definitely something to factor in one's purchasing decision. But it shouldn't mean the game is ruined. It shouldn't mean the game isn't necessarily worth its price. Even lacking a mode, it's still the best handheld version there is and it still offers two versions for one price. We have yet to see how it runs, so that's not up for debate... yet.
Whether that's worth buying is up to each individual, but one missing mode shouldn't be an automatic blacklist.

Wii U + PC was great for me. Now it's Switch + PC + XB1. I do miss Uncharted though...
Uncharted 4 is kinda mehey. Honestly, you're better off watching someone else play it... because Uncharted 4 is literally a movie. A very good movie. But not so much of a good game.
