@IceClimbers I think they'll go with the first option, a reveal now and a 2018 release. It seems to me 2017 already has quite a packed second semester to push Retro's game there.
Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn happened -> Ike in Brawl
Awakening happened -> Robin and Lucina in 3DS/Wii U
Fates happened -> Corrin as DLC for 3DS/Wii U
So following that trend Alm and/or Celica seem likely given the release of Shadows of Valentia yesterday. Heroes feels more like a spinoff so I'd doubt Alfonse and/or Sharena would come as a result of Heroes releasing in February.
I can also see Retros new game as the November game for 2018. All depends on what Nintendo has on the backburner.
Animal Crossing is a given within the next 18 months as well. The questions will be what franchises Nintendo wants to focus on in the next 2 years. I still say Luigis Mansion is on the cards for the next 18 months as well and Nintendo might give that a nice push!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
And why add yet another FE character in Smash when you've got an FE Musou that needs people on it's roster? Especially when some would prefer it to not be a tsunami of FE1/3, Awakening, and Fates characters.
That's another reason (other than the ARMS killing) because i don't expect a Smash "Deluxe"
@DarthNocturnal Release dates are the key answer here and I'm working on the assumption Smash 4 Deluxe is a holiday 2017 title, if it's an early 2018 title then I'd think a main character from the 2018 Fire Emblem game is more likely (the fact Fire Emblem 2018 was revealed to exist in February to me suggests that game will release in early 2018 rather than mid/late 2018).
Regarding Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones, they were released too early for playable in Brawl and too late for playable in Melee if you look at the pattern in my earlier post.
As for Fire Emblem Warriors, I don't think there's particularly a connection. Midna, Ghirahim and Tingle's inclusion as assist trophies didn't stop them from being in Hyrule Warriors.
@rallydefault There was a post here, it's gone now. I deleted it. Not worth the effort!
p.s. Given the frequency and abruptness in which you decide to take my posts the wrong way, as you so often do, it begs the question: - why don't you go ahead and put me on your ignore list?
@ZeldaFan50 The Xbox One has 1.3 teraflops with an x86 AMD chip, whereas the Switch has 1 teraflop with an ARM Nvidia chip.
You're comparing the FP32 performance of the XBox One to the FP16 performance of the Switch. The correct comparison would be 1.3 Tflops Xbox One to 0.5 Tflops Switch. Or, in simpler terms, 1,300 gigaflops to 500 gigaflops.
The stock Tegra X1 chip has a 500 Gflops performance. The Tegra X1 sitting inside the Switch is a slightly downclocked variant, so the actual performance of the Switch is actually below the stock Tegra X1 chip, whether it is docked or not.
To parrot your sentence; I don't want to be rude (either), but the Switch is about 30-40% the power of the Xbox One. There's plenty of technical comparisons floating around the web if you wish to inform yourself further.
p.s. I have never once suggested that the Switch is weaker than the Wii U by the way! Your use of the word 'about' (or 'roughly') in your original post was far too vague to gauge what you were implying.
I don't want to be rude, but the Switch is about the power of the Xbox One.
I presented you with the facts, and you chose to shrug your shoulders in response. In that case, I shall make a mental note not to bother explaining things to you the next time!
I've opened up my Switch and done a detailed analysis of all components and their relative output and power consumption. My teardown reveals the Switch runs on pixies wings and unicorn tears. As the processor is designed by wizards the fun by square nano inch is almost infinite times greater then any other magic box. The only drawback is that it has a non replaceable flux capacitor which may cause a problem in 50 years time. Full schematics to follow.
@Peek-a-boo I didn't know that warranted a rude response. What I mean is that it's silly to argue about the power of video game consoles. Also you were the one that brought up the Switch was way weaker then the Xbox One point so I just responded, no need to be a jerk about something this arbitrary.
@ZeldaFan50 Yet when I presented you with the facts, you suddenly do a U-turn and say 'who cares?'.
You were the one who responded to me when I said that the Switch is less than half as powerful as the Switch. You simply responded (in the first place) by disagreeing with what is essentially a fact, which is rather odd if you stop and think about it for a moment.
Nobody's being a jerk here! You're just unnecessarily prolonging a conversation that ended when you were originally corrected by both myself and DarthNocturnal.
@Peek-a-boo Okay I get it now . I'm just saying it runs unreal engine 4 very nicely and there is not much in graphical deference in the multi plats that came to the Switch.
The Switch won't be getting super resource intensive games that already struggle to run well on the base PS4. I'm willing to bet optimization could help get a lot of non-AAA third party games running on the system in an acceptable state, though.
I'm still curious to see if Resident Evil 7 will appear on Switch at all, considering hints that have been dropped by Capcom.
If we get a proper Monster Hunter XX version on Switch I'll be ecstatic. We NEED a Monster Hunter on Switch. With split screen co-op! Sideways joycons! (Not sure if they could pull that off but it would be awesome if they did)
Especially with paid online coming... Switch needs a nice little pocket of online games with longevity. Mario Kart, Arms, Splatoon, Smash Bros and Monster Hunter would do nicely.

I doubt a new MH would have local co op, but I do think it is coming. Capcom won't pass up on all the money Japan would give them for a new portable MH.
