In lieu of a NintendoLife review, and prompted by a North American eShop sale, I'm wondering if anybody here can recommend Trine 2 for the Switch. It looks absolutely gorgeous, but I'd like to know if the gameplay is fun in single player and in co-op, and what the controls feel like. Cheers to anyone who can offer some guidance.

It's not a game I love, but I do recommend it especially if you want to play co-op with someone. It's controls are a bit floaty for my taste, but if you played Subspace Emissary or Little Big Planet they wont be much of an issue. There are some clever puzzles, and the three character's play-styles offer a good variety. Plus, yeah. It's a beautiful game.

Also, Nintendolife reviewed this game on WiiU if you want their take:

I just started trine 1 and so far we are having fun in 3 player co op. I bought 2 also but havnt played it yet. We are not hard core gamers but love simple games we can play together. They were both on sale a couple days ago on nin online. Got them both for 10 bucks each.

Thank you @judaspete and @wafflesngravy both for your input. I bought it on sale for a little over 11 dollars USD. It’s a very pretty game, and not too stressful - perfect for a casual to mid-level gamer. The controls are floaty as you mentioned but I feel it’s actually a natural component and complement to the overall aesthetic and tone, which is light but earnest and invested in the gamer’s experience. And while I’m not short of co-op games I bought pretending my wife would rather play anything other than BotW, I hope she’ll give this one a try.
