So every time I see trails of cold steel III& IV I get tempted to buy it but is the game any good? I know 3 has a demo and I tried to play it before but the combat felt slow at the start but I might give it another bash

Also I read a review about IV and they pretty much said if you haven't played the last 10? Trials games to not bother as the story intertwine with each other is this true or would you still get the story/ enjoy it if it's your first trails game.

It's a good, challenging, rpg series. But if you're new to the series, I would just wait for the ports of ToCS I & II that are current in progress. Check back in late 2022 or early 2023 when XSEED releases them in the west. How much would you enjoy Lord of the Rings if you began at The Two Towers or Star Wars beginning at The Empire Strikes Back?

At the very least I wouldn't recommend playing Trails of Cold Steel III and IV until you've played I and II. They're direct sequels of one another and won't really make any sense unless you've played them in order.

In addition to that, there are separate arcs in the Trails series. There's the Trails in the Sky trilogy, and the Crossbell arc (Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure). Trails of Cold Steel I and II can be played without playing these other Trails games, but most people recommend playing the other Trails arcs before jumping into Trails of Cold Steel III and IV. All the Trails games take place within the same world, and I bleave each of the 3 arcs takes place within a different region. I've heard Trails of Cold Steel III and IV is where the different arcs begin to crossover with each other, and you would really need the context of the whole Trails series to understand the plot at this point, but personally I've only played Trails of Cold Steel I and II so I can't say anything for certain.

I only have Trails of Cold Steel 3 which i bought off of the eshop last month.

I still need to get Trails of Cold Steel 1 from my Playstation 3 PSN store or at least from the Playstation 4 PSN store but 35-39 bucks is a bit too much for an old RPG game

@urrutiap Have you looked at physical copies? PS3 versions of ToCS 1 & 2 have been available in the UK sub-£20 for quite a while.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

I live in the U.S., Gcunit and pretty sure physical copies of Cold Steel 1 even Cold Steel 2 are totally more expensive due to scalpers hoarders
