I'm surprised by this game. It borrows a lot of aspects from Shin Megami Tensei. Heaven versus hell and squad customization. I'm about ten hours in, just started chapter three. I've really enjoyed my time with it.
I recommend it for jrpg fans who are looking for a SMT fix while we're all waiting for Shin Megami Tensei V.

I'm about 24 and a half hours in on Chapter 4, and "Diet SMT" is how I've been describing it. I wonder just how much the devs were influenced by SMT (Devil Summoner series in particular) when making it. The demon designs range from "Passable..." at best to "Why? ...Just why?" at worst, and I wish there were better ways of organizing and managing your Astrals, but all-in-all, I think it's a fine game in its own right.

It's more interesting and holding my attention better than Fallen Legion's story did. Fifteen hours in, chapter three. Hayato and Lua are trying to understand why fallen angels are working with demons, and trying to figure out why those fallen angels are accusing them of working towards "destroying mankind'. Sadly, I miss the SMT routine of being able to choose dialog options that determine your alignment between demon, angel, or neutral.

My copy came in the mail today. I only played for 45 minutes (gotta head back out) but I like what I've played so far. Can't wait to play more later! Lua is bae 😍

Twenty hours in, just started chapter five. Some of these dungeon puzzles are mildly annoying. Such as having walls that you can pass through, but they lack any indication that you could pass through them. The combat hasn't presented a serious challenge yet. Just match elemental weaknesses (WO>WI FR>WO LI>WA WA>FR, etc), level your astrals, and swap skills as desired.
The story has continued to be enjoyable.

Twenty-seven hours in, chapter six. Well...I just failed the most recent gear-check boss. I need a strong set of wind astrals, and the ones I have aren't good enough. Time to grind karma I guess.

I've looked at screenshots and stuff, not really feeling it. It does resemble SMT, but something feels off. This is more like SMT IV than Nocturne/Lucifer's Call right?
I am really enjoying it. It has the playstyle very similar to games like SMT Soul Hackers and Strange Journey. The dungeons keep getting bigger and I like the general mechanics. It's obviously influenced but then is that a bad thing when SMT is so damn good.
