I think I'm as excited for the swell of 2016 Zelda fan art as I am for the concept art. There's already some great work based on what few characters and structures Nintendo has revealed.
@Nicolai He does, haha. I've been ambivalent about the low effort-looking style of these holiday sketches, but I think this one is really creative with how they changed the color of the guardian's glow yet again.
@meleebrawler Frankly, I'm not certain I ever want to see a Brachydios himself again haha.
And I've seen Lizalfos breathe fire since Ocarina of Time so I'm anticipating it for this game. We haven't really seen any fire element enemies yet, so I'm pumped!
@DarthNocturnal Well, I just have a memory of OG Z-targeting a Lizalfos (or Dinolfos — they're both lizard men) as it breathed fire at me and lit the room red. A real cinematic moment. I'm remembering it as that one room in the Fire Temple with the rock islands Link could hop between, but I might be combining two memories.
I did play that game when I was eight, to be fair.
Y'all are a bit behind on the times. Here's the DL: noonish PST Wednesday screenshot, noonish PST Friday concept art.
For the mini guardian shot, fans have theorized that it drops the materials to craft the blue light arrow. Granted, as we know from the original teaser, that blue blade is not a physical thing, but rather an energy sword-type construct that looks to be made of the same energy as the guardians' laser.
And finally, the message on the Facebook concept art provided a little further support for the giant Death Mountain guardian; "As you’ve seen in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Link will need to battle enemies called Guardians that come in a variety of sizes and shapes."
