@Octane: Yeah, but comparing ABLW to other failures of Nintendo's is rather unfair in my mind but I personally love the sand dungeon puzzle where you had to trigger a beamos then have it hit the switches in the row. That is impressive what they were able to do with the game.
@Smash_kirby: From what I've played so far (the first four or five dungeons I think), I like it too. It's just that every good or bad game will have some people that dislike the game, and when one person adresses those issues, others will follow. That's nothing new and that doesn't tell you anything about what you should think of the game.
Every Zelda game has vocal detractors. There's just as many people on NeoGAF that say ALBW is the best Zelda game since the N64 era.
Personally, I thought it was pretty good, but the rental system took away some of the adventure. And being able to do dungeons in any order resulted in weird difficulty spikes.
Nintendo found a new way to render twice as many grass as they could before. The problem is, it's going to take a while as each seed needs to be planted manually in the fields of Hyrule. It also takes time for the grass to grow, hence they decided to delay the launch of Zelda to 2017.
Twilight Princessed again. Everyone saw it coming.
They are heavily implying the NX has a new gimmick, so I think they will reduce the use of the gamepad on the Wii U version, depending of what this new hardware feature is.

@Vinny: I personally didn't see this coming. I knew the chances of a new home console were slim, but I didn't expect them to delay Zelda again. If anything, I expected a port to be released at a later date.
People complained about Zelda not being at E3 last year, and now Zelda will be literally the only playable game at this year's E3. The tables have turned.

So do people reckon they have delayed it again because HD and open world is bigger strain on devloping than they thought or they just don't want to undermine the NX's sales so they release both at the same time?

I wish I had the energy to search back 100 pages and uproariously shame all the silly fools who insisted that Zelda U would never launch on NX (increasingly anachronistic title and all). For now, I'll just say that you know who you are.
Things we know from this:
1) The NX releases March 2017 (unless it gets delayed, lol)
2) Zelda U will release simoltaneously on Wii U and NX (Who am I kidding? Everyone with cognitive abilities already knew this!)
Things we can infer from this:
1) Zelda U releases March 2017
2) Nintendo is going to host a separate press event for the NX and its games closer to release
3) OR (and it's a big 'or') Nintendo is just crazy
Wait a minute, is that the Sheikah symbol on that book? Does Link have a spellbook!?
Edit: You can see it in the latest 'trailer' for Zelda U. It definitley looks like the Sheikah symbol to me: https://youtu.be/Ob3oTKYqvxs?t=2m30s
Seriously, at this point stop putting the carrot in front of the horse. There is nothing gained by actively disappointing people by lying about release dates' imminency. That won't even help with stocks.

That's already been talked about in the thread but it got over turned in favour of complaining about Skyward Sword, someone's desire to turn Zelda into an interactive hentai game, grass and other rubbish.
There's an idea floating about that the book is part map-part akin to the bombers book in MM.
Double release with NX has been a given for a while, but delaying the game specifically to coincide with the stupid console's launch is vomit-inducing.
Pretty much the worst videogame news I could possibly wake up to.

That does seem like the mostly thing but I wouldn't put it past Ninty to greatly underestimate how much work goes into a HD open world game.

I'm pretty sure everyone with cognitive abilities knew that the NX was going to be released in 2016 as well
Mayhap, but I've said before things like "unless Nintendo just isn't ready, in which case they outta let the Wii U die out and wait until everything's is set to go."

I don't buy the theory because it assumes the NX is a traditional home console that's launching in 2016 and is similar enough to the Wii U that a port is trivial. All three lined up for Twilight Princess, only one did for Skyward Sword. There's a fair chance that none of them could line up for Zelda U.
For me it was a case of there being not enough information about what the NX actually was. I wasn't 100% convinced it was going to be a home console launching in 2016. I thought it could be a portable and even if not I thought it could be coming well into 2017. But clearly the NX has turned out to be a home console that's launching close enough to the end of 2016 that it doesn't matter. The timing did end up lining up, for the most part. So give yourself a medal if you were right about that.
