@Agriculture If you do get the game, I recommend getting all the memories before you fight the final boss if you want to see the entire story and get the true ending. If you don't feel like it though, that's fine.

Thanks for the advice, I'll get the game and get all the memories this summer.

Witcher 3 approach with Blood and Wine was best. You could either play it as part of the main story at the higher end of difficulty, or you could just start it by itself without playing the main game.

My 75 hour run of BotW was pure bliss the entire time (well, aside from one particular shrine mission that I hated with a passion). I did all of the main story stuff, including finding all of the memories, upgraded my armor, found most of the shrines, etc.

I mean, sure, it's probably repetitive if you spend hundreds of hours scouring Hyrule for korok seeds, but I've never understood why someone would do that in the first place. I stopped looking for korok seeds when I stopped finding new places I wanted to go. They're there to reward exploration, not to be meaningful in their own right.

I got about 60 hours out of Skyrim in 2011 before I got sick of it, in comparison. BotW just feels so much better to play. Skyrim is filled with a lot more stuff to do, but the combat, controls, and general look of the game are awful.

@Ralizah

How did it stay entertaining for you after you'd got the master sword and done all of the divine beasts then?

The incentive to keep looking for shrines seems to drop off quite a lot after all that.

@Dezzy Looking for memories, hunting for shrines, killing guardians to upgrade my gear, filling out the map, and generally just going from interesting area to interesting area.

Those things were most of what motivated me throughout the game. The divine beast sections were OK, but a bit too setpiece-y for my liking. The game is always at its best when it's leaving you alone to forge your own path.

At some point, I felt ready to travel to Hyrule Castle to confront Calamity Ganon. The whole game had a unique, organic evolution that I absolutely loved, and that is missing from every other Zelda game. It felt like a true adventure, as opposed to a game where I'm hunting around places I've already been for the one activity I need to perform to continue the plot (i.e. other Zelda games).

Bang. Print it. Laminate it. Frame it. Stick it on a t-shirt and car bumper sticker while you're at it.

@Operative2-0 A Zelda game for Zelda fans who have been yearning for a return to the more adventurous and open feel of the NES original.

Just because it's an open world game, doesn't make it a good game, that's the issue

Im replaying the game in master mode and am ashamed of my past self. This game is a masterpiece. I love it. I hope nintendo will continue this path with zelda.

I bought this game for my brother, to celebrate his new switch, about two weeks ago.

He already completed the 120 sanctuaries O.o

How to recognise a fake Zelda player 101:

Rule 1. They call shrines 'sanctuaries' 😂

I have a little bit over 20 shrines completed. Maybe 23. I think i am getting used to the mastermode. Getting started is the hardest part. A little bit afraid of the master trials. And yesterday i discovered the magic of the mighty bananas. Was going for the mighty porgy recipe to get attack buff but its too complicated^^

I prefer bananas anyway. My favourite fruit. In the german version the durian is called the queen of the fruits. To me the banana is king. Also i like that its mighty banana instead of swordbanana. But im sure the durian will be useful ones i level up my gear and find good spots to farm weapons. This game made me curious about durians and i had to try it. Pretty intense experience. It went from utter disgust to yummy in two days. The second day i even started to like the smell. Smells like rotten onions.

I like kass. His song is beautiful. First time i met him was on a stone pillar on the ocean. Felt so right.

I have yet to dare venture into Master Mode. I've beaten the game before so I watched a couple of Youtube videos to see what Master Mode was like and... seems a bit more hardcore than I think I can handle. XD
Is it possible to switch between modes in the same save file though? I would like to try beating Ganon in Master Mode since he just seems a little... easy? in normal mode. But I would prefer to do it without playing the rest of the game since I'm scared of the silver Lynels as is... I don't need to meet a gold one. XD

@DarthNocturnal All right, thank you. I guess I will allow myself to get slaughtered through Master Mode at some point then. Should be fun, especially on the Great Plateau. XD Tree branches FTW?
