A tip for those who in the USA and looking for BOTW Amiibo - Target seems to have a policy of locking the more collectable Amiibo in a separate cabinet, away from the others. I found a complete set of BOTW at Target including Wolf Link and the Guardian, along with Bayonetta, Cloud and Corrin.

The really surprising thing is I first saw them there two weeks ago, the day before leaving on a big family trip, so I reluctantly did the mature thing and didn't buy any. Today I went back and was VERY surprised to see they were all still there except for one Wolf Link. I grabbed the last remaining wolf, the one I wanted most. I would love to have the Guardian and Bayonetta too, but my wife would kill me.

Seems to me that they are just hanging around because nobody sees them, so it might be worth checking your local Target.

The first news post and items are available now. Wii U owners are going to be furious when they find out what they're missing out on.

Ya I couldn't see anything major be part of the spotpass thing, it's ok if they did something like Hyrule Warriors Legends with the spotpass packs, but they got no fairies this time around so0o0o0o, would be neat for people to try out a amiibo weapon or something, people need to know the glory of what 8 bit Lonk gives,

Yep, the first News Link for BotW Ver 1.3.1 Switch is available.

This Switch News Channel for BotW is game director Hidemaro Fujibayashi elaborating on some trick in the game, explaining how to befriend dogs at stables, and gives us a link that boots up the game and provides items that help.

You get 2x Apple, 1x Meat for free, falling from the sky similar to what an amiibo does - but as often as you like, a thousand times a day if you wish.

If you have the game on standby while clicking the News Link the game asks to restart, so you better save your amazing meat and apples. It's not worth the time and hassle, at least not for those items (an advanced player can farm hundreds of them in less time).

If you're new to the game you might benefit a little from the free goodies and tips. The advanced player though, who is just completing the game again on master mode, is probably not expected to get much news or usefulness out of that feature.

I also heard that Version 1.3.1 fixed some more bugs & glitches.

The first thing I do after every update is to check for the glitched chests in Hateno Village and Phirone and the one near the one in Phirone that is stuck underwater in the bay of the ocean. The buggy treasure chests are still there.

Anyone else wish Breath of the Wild took more advantage of the Zelda lore and the events of previous games?

One of my favorite things when it was shown off last year was seeing the Temple of Time abandoned, with its amazing music. The music really felt like it was signifying a bygone era. I was hoping there would be similar moments throughout the game, but Breath of the Wild really didn't take advantage of that too much. A couple of references to events and locations in previous games would've made a big difference IMHO.

@SKTTR Do you know if frame rate was improved at all? I have the Wii U version, and while I doubt it'll happen I'm still hoping for a frame rate boost to a more constant 30 fps.

I know Ancient Armor, Ancient Weapons++, combined with lvl 3 attack food is the strongest combo, but darn it i love the "Of the wild" set. I can just eat attack food and still be very powerful, right?

@shadow-wolf When I first saw Temple of Time, I assumed at some point you'd, you know, be able to use it to jump in time. I was wrong (obviously).

What surprises me from current Zelda lore is that they are moving away from the old Triforce lore. They talk about the goddess's Golden power, while in Ocarina the three Goddesses were central, alongside the Triforce.
At least, up until I've been playing in BotW it seems they mention a lot from Skyward Sword, but not a peep about the Goddesses apart from the three springs.

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Viewing live broadcasts of this game and I wonder. How can someone have so much health with maximum stamina? Are there really that much shrines in the game?

Does anyone know if there is a food that boost attack and speed both at once?

As far as I know BotW dishes tend to only provide one kind of boost, and nothing more. Since combining boosts isn't possible (I may be wrong), I don't think there's a dish that boosts both attack and speed at once. You could wear different sets of clothing that do that for you, though.

God first.

speed x3 (x4 lotus seed+dragon horn) with attack x3 (fierce diety set) is op with master sword (new master sword) or lynel weapons.

@Luna_110 I think they aren't moving away from it so much as extending it out. After creating the world, the Golden Goddesses left to never return. The triforce has no will of its own and is somewhat literal minded (which I feel like that is what they were getting at with Fi and her being a sword spirit) when expressing the wishes of others. Yet a link between worlds shows that the Triforce isn't just an artifact but it is practically the linchpin of the world (heart or soul of the world maybe?).

Hylia is the heir of the stewardship of the world at this point as she was tasked to protect the Triforce (I have a pet theory that she is the Goddess of Time referenced in OoT and she was born from the Triforce's creation) and as Zelda's divinity is expounded upon she is elevated as more than just a bearer of the Triforce but its natural protector and Link and his soul as Hylia's chosen champion function as her champion. I think the biggest change is that Zelda and Ganon are now powerful in their own right when before their aspects of the Triforce impacted that. No matter what Zelda is Hylia reborn and Ganon has his own power and motivation as the malice of Demise. Link still feels like a blank slate to me as he was a chosen champion but he has no inherent motivation, other than not wanting to see the world destroyed I guess. Ah well its all fun to dabble in.

GameOtaku

I just picked up a switch and BOTW. I'm enjoying the game so far but good grief the weapons are so dang brittle! They just don't last at all and arrows are not as easy to come by as in previous games, speaking of rare finds so are rupees!

@DarthNocturnal
I know you can cook food but you can also forge weapons and craft armor? I sold a lot of ore recently to by light armor at hateno.
