Wow i explored researcher village and there is so much to do! It's devastanting for how much it overwhelms you!
Upgraded the Sheikah Slate (only bombs and sensor, don't have mats for stasys yet) and...well...with all the scans that you have to do now the actual gameplay will become even larger now! Bought 5th Hearth, did the Shrine in the village, some quests (the guy in love with the innkeeper and the black bokoblins/moblins to kill at the beach to calm the rams). Founded some Koroks too. Now for the main quest i have to return to Impa for the records, but first i'll explore all of East Necluda. So i will do it really after a week at least since this zone is really massive to explore, and doing it scanning everything is a huge task! By the way in the village i bought the Hylia Armor Set and when returning to Impa i'll upgrade it
I'm really getting impressed with all of this. Aonuma-san did really a fantastic job. I know that i'm a little bit repetitive about this...but really there's no contest for GOAT. This game deserves it hands down. Again, i really think that there is so much to do, and in a so much variety of ways, that this game will take me even into summer to say the least. I'll start Splatoon 2, will be downloading the first DLC, and maybe i will still have to do something to finish the game. I'm enjoying really a lot doing it with my times (and i know i'm slow), but i wanna feel and taste it every second, every bit, every frame. It's simply gorgeous!
It's been a week since release and I don't have the game yet. I pre-ordered it and it was sent on Tuesday before the release but it hasn't arrived thanks to bad postal service. I ordered the game to my family's place since I have a free week and I brought my Wii U so I can play it the whole week but everything was ruined. I'm going back to school on Monday while the game is heading towards here. I'll make my family send the game to my apartment once it arrives. At least I'll get to try out Switch once I'm back at school since couple of my friends got one.
@Octane
Yeah I figured that out too. That was a dumb and annoying one though. You still had to like flick the ball upwards to make it cross the gap, which seemed unnecessary.
My favourite one so far has been the one that flings you, and your bombs, through the air with those piston things.
omg i wish i knew that, it took me ages to get through that shrine !
I was on my way to the Central Tower, which is very heavily guarded by guardians, and the horse I just tamed decides to stop right when two guardians start aiming at me...
Luckily I still managed to climb the tower. I'm glad I'm focusing more on increasing my stamina rather than my heart count, since it seems like stamina is much more handy for these types of situations, and just for exploring in general.
Okay so I know this is very relative but how long should I spend in the starting area, the great plateau? Even it alone seems huge, and I am enjoying exploring it.
Okay today i played REALLY A LOT, like 7-8 hrs. This game has me! Almost done exploring East Necluda where i did really so much! Cooked so much meals that i filled the entire capability! And i have materials for so much more! Beat my first 2 Hynox and it was awesome! Did first 2 Kass quests (the gold rupee and the riding buck to discover a Shrine). Found a lot of Koroks (should be almost at 60 now) and did even like 3-4 Shrines (17 completed) and discovered other 2 that i can't do right now, don't have good gear since they are combat based against tough guardians. And after that i started the memories quest and discovered the first one: Ganon awakening. I stopped just after the scene and will explore the remaining part of East Necluda (the most to the east, with the huge mountain. Don't know the English name) going through the door. Then i'll continue with another zone. Now that i started with memories the story is starting to come out and i'm really starting to wonder how it will turn out. I'm so curious to discover it that i can't really wait to continue! Someone has to stop me!!!!!!!
@scubydo yeah i can confirm it. Stay there as much as you like and grab all things you can to create a base for the rest of Hyrule. It is really overwhelming!
@FGPackers
Can you tell me how to get the Kass quests and which photo is of the 1st memory? Are they in order? I'm like 50 hrs in with 9 hearts and 2 stamina upgrades, even beat A Major Test of Strength shrine, and have the entire map filled out south and east of the Great Plateau. I saw Kass by Dueling Peaks and then again in the tropical jungle by the electric storm shrine, but never got any quests from him
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
@JaxonHi don't think photos are in order. By the way i did the stone arc with the mountain behind it. Got it hinted by a little quest in Kakariko where you have to make a photo of the Great Faity Fountain. Kass quests are both in East Necluda. The gold rupee on the sea, south of the researcher, on a rock in the water. The other one is, if i remember right, west of the high mountain near a kind of Shrine platform and you have to ride the buck on it right in front of Kass. And then the Shrine will appear
Can't wait for the activity log to tell me how much hrs did i spent on the game to keep tracking it!
Anyone have suggestions on whether to upgrade hearts or stamina? I've only added one heart so far. I have about 20 orbs, so about 5 upgrades more or less pending...not sure how to spend them!
Okay so I know this is very relative but how long should I spend in the starting area, the great plateau? Even it alone seems huge, and I am enjoying exploring it.
I spent only about an hour. The game's just so much more fun with the paraglider.
@Meowpheel I looked up the trick to the Lost Woods and don't feel like my experience suffered for it. Too much like dousing anyway.
And yeah, the Rito quest was unremarkable save for probably the best — still extremely short —dungeon in the game. There wasn't even a middle stage after arriving to the town and before fighting the divine beast like the other three had. Without saying anything, Gerudo is the only area I would say is long enough. The Zora one was just abrupt. That all being said, I think Revali (sp) is my favorite character in the game simply because he's less absorbed in his own character by virtue of being more self-absorbed.
