Does anyone understand the rules? I've gotten to 10th place yesterday, but I still don't get what those modes mean: Random, Killshots, Badges and Counter. Obviously, Random chooses between the other three.
But what do the badges do? You can see them appear in the lower right as well as on other people's boards. What's the difference between Killshots and Counter? And how does that relate to the aim target you can move with the left stick?
Am I missing something? The whole targeting others, or getting dumped on by others, is not explained anywhere. I don't have much Tetris experience but I assumed the targeting was new for this game. Where can I get a bit of guidance on that, and why isn't it in the game?
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
As you delete lines and make combos you build up an attack. (And you also defend against attacks by delaying them this way).
Eventually that attack introduces junk lines on the game of your target.
If you're being targeted by multiple people then that's multiple junk lines coming your way at an accelerated rate.
You ideally want to finish off other players or mess them up to get them out of the way, but you also want keep a low profile just in case they decide to attack you back.
You can choose who to attack specifically with the left joystick, or let the game decide for you with the right joystick (that's the different modes you see on the top, it's just the targeting algorithm you can use).
@Delibheel Thanks for the explanation. So is this attack mechanic new for this game, or does it exist in local multiplayer on previous Tetris games?
I'm still burning from the apparent lack of in-game explanation. My first game, I didn't even figure out the controls for the first 30 seconds or so - I was trying to move pieces with the L-Stick and rotate pieces using L, R, ZL, ZR. God have mercy on the 10-15 players who were knocked out before I was in that game

Well that sucks. I'm pretty sure more people would play if they could do practice matches and stuff with their friends, or maybe even que up with them while the rest of the room gets filled with their icon under them or something.
Nice >:]
I do stupid stuff on youtube.com/mysticbros, so check it out if your bored or whatever.
Or don't, it's your time after all.
Got to 3rd place last night. This game is intense in all the right ways, and I love flicking the stick to change my focus. Very well thought out and probably the only Tetris where I felt the outline of the piece was actually helpful!! I usually turn that off, but not here, not when the heat is on. And my Hori D-pad joycon was a real blessing as I was playing in handheld mode the whole time.
@Delibheel Are you sure the four modes are just targeting? So it would mean that Random shoots at random people and Counter shoots at people shooting at you. Killshots tries to finish people close to being knocked out? And Badges aims for people with badges, I guess? That would make sense, actually.
Still not sure what the badges do for you, though.
Yes, you can actually press the same mode again to reroll. So in the case of random, every time you press that direction you get a new random objective.
I don't know what the badges do or how to get them. But I assume they mean the player is doing very well, so they become an attractive target.
Finally something worth while from the service besides NES games. I managed to get 7th on my first try, but then I stopped because I had other stuff to do, guess I will try more later.
