Topic: Tera Raids are BROKEN

These are even worse than Max Raids in 🗡🛡

1️⃣UNLESS I do a move, the NPCs won't do a thing against the Pokemon we're facing

2️⃣The Tera-Pokemon will ONLY EVER attack the Pokemon️ I'm using yet somehow, the HP of the NPCs' Pokemon also goes down.

3️⃣When the Pokemon I'm using faints, a chunk of time comes off the time bar yet when one of the NPCs' Pokemon gets knocked out, there's no time penalty.

Unless I'm doing something wrong or missing something, I'm struggling through the Tera-Raids to get the XP Candy to level-up my Party Of Six and then I'm done with the game...

...Until the DLC comes out anyway.

So even with the latest up that didn't fix all the problem?

The Charizard Tera Raids were particularly bad, at some points my pokémon was facing the wrong way.. one Charizard my team beat once, nothing happened, we beat it a SECOND time & the we got blasted out of the raid. :S

@WaltherP99 I've had some questionable moments in Tera Raids myself (and you certainly can't idle them like you could in Sw/Sh), but allow me to give you some advice:
1. For the NPC problem, put the move you want to use at the top of your move selection page (done by going into your Pokemon Summary, going to their moves and then clicking the prompt at the bottom of the screen) and mash A so that both you're attacking and the NPC's keep attacking. It ain't elegant but it's worked pretty damn well for me.
2. Everyone is being simultaneously attacked by the Tera Mon so even if it looks like they're only targeting you, the fact is their still targeting everyone: they only play an animation when you're the one getting hit.
3. The respawn timer is a mechanic that is only applied to real players: since NPC's are just controlled by the game, they don't need such a timer and thus come back immediately (plus it's not like the NPC's would be performing better/smarter than an actual person anyway so bringing them back w/o a timer balances things out if you ask me).

In short: if you're looking to do better in Tera Raids, stick on Online Mode and have real people join in. They might even have a busted Legendary/strategy that NPC's wouldn't be able to accomplish

Honestly, the Charizard event has made me think I might not bother with later events. I had a Raid where we somehow got Charizard down to about 20% HP before the shield went up, then it recovered about half its HP (is that even supposed to be possible?) while the shield breakpoint stayed where it was. We lost, inevitably.

Everyone is complaining about how broken Tera Raids are and I'm here Soloing 6 Star Raids. I think the real problem is people just aren't going about the Raids with the right Pokèmon builds and items. That being said the amount of timer stalling in these Raids such as the computer attacking way too many times in a row and removing non existent status ailments from itself is borderline infuriating oh and don't get me started on the stupid Shield the Pokèmon surrounds itself in either. The game tells you to Terastalise to stop the Pokèmon which I do but it doesn't seem to make much difference either way super effective or not.

I just want to farm Herba Mystica but this game is making it a huge chore at times. Btw I recommend Iron Hands as well as Azumarill, I was one or 2 shotting some 5 Star with them, it's just hilarious how OP they are.

I definitely have to agree with you on this. I still have Charizard Raids in my game as I forgot to get the latest data from Poke Portal and my biggest issue with the Charizard Raids is that they just drag on for too long. I barely managed to take him down but I won't be bothering with the Charizard event again on the 15th-18th December.

@RubyCarbuncle I agree that you need really well-crafted teams, but often the raids are definitely broken. I'd like to add the shield not breaking for a good 2 or 3 turns after you've emptied the bar, so the Pokemon is still taking reduced damage. I've seen that happen more times than I can count, both online and offline.

They are such a step down from the Max Raids. The asynchronous nature makes it such a hot mess and you have no idea what's actually happening. The game can't keep up with all the actions and starts to desync. There are people who did the raids in offline multiplayer and the desync was pretty noticable, now add online lag on top of it ... Often times the fight just stops for a few seconds with nothing happening on your end while the timer keeps ticking down. The timer also keeps ticking down during the dozens of pointless textboxes that pop up. You are constantly interrupted while trying to select an action. They want you to terastalize to break shields but by the time the shield is up you often don't even have your tera orb charged. They punish you for fainting by reducing the fighting timer AND increasing your respawn timer. And on top of it all the fights are incredibly overtuned. I can't blame the players for only using Azumarill and Iron Hands since they are your best bet at actually winning these but my god, this leads to 0 variety when doing Tera Raids.

I have spend hundreds of hours doing Max Raids (and dynamax adventures) but Tera Raids are so broken I can't be bothered to do them. I really wished GF would have gone the lazy route and just copy pasted Max Raids over from Sword and Shield and called it a day.

For real. One time my Azumarill was floating upside down and facing the wrong way. It only happened once but it shouldn't have happened at all. Admittedly it made me laugh quite hard 😅

I've noticed a couple of times after losing a Tera Raid, sound effects from the fight kept going (slowly) for a while after the screen faded out. Gameplay didn't resume until they were finished,

I did a lot of Max Raids in the final months of Gen VIII, and they did get stale after a while, but they certainly weren't as rough around the edges as Tera Raids.
