The enhancable Lotus spirit from Warframe is out today at 7am and it appears 1am, 7am, 1pm, and 7pm on the spirit board. I've never seen a spirit with such specific times. Collectors have to beat/get Lotus twice! Don't miss it!
However, it seems Lotus can also appear randomly, as it's also listed under the Random Appearance category.
@Rexenokid Wait, actually there was a leak. Sakurai showed a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Screenshot / Picture of the Day. And a new stage is on it: A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate version of SSB4's Battlefield.
It could be a stage update, or DLC, or the new stage for a Fighters Pass 2 DLC character - but what fighter would fit a SSB4 battlefield character?

Sakurai: "Yesterday I posted a pic showing what looks like an old version of Battlefield. This was a dev stage we used to check how the game's fighter models would look using a common light source, etc. You won't find this in the final version of the game."
@SKTTR For Smash 4 DLC there was a gap in between the 2 waves of fighter DLC when returning stages appeared, could be similar here (Smash 4 DLC = Smash Ultimate DLC equivalent):
Mewtwo = Piranha Plant
Lucas, Roy, Ryu, Suzaku Castle stage = Fighters Pass 1
Dream Land 64, Hyrule Castle 64, Peach's Castle 64, Pirate Ship, Super Mario Maker = Remaining returning stages and a BotW 2 stage?
Cloud, Corrin, Bayonetta, Midgar stage, Umbra Clock Tower stage = Fighters Pass 2
I leveled up the Lotus spirit to its enhanced form, and it turns out it's NOT the Warframe posterboy Excalibur, but Natah, a megaspoiler Warframe character (that makes way more sense for Lotus anyway).
Though with no sign of Excalibur in Smash, he could be a new fighter in Fighters Pass 2, or, since warframes are literally just armors/costumes, Excalibur would be perfect for being a new Mii outfit.
I'm just saying, because Lotus isn't the most popular or well-known Warframe character - at least in the west, but maybe it is in Japan.
I'm changing my fighters pass predictions, I think we'll get:
1. Crash Bandicoot (acts as increasing hype for a new Crash game that's timed exclusive on PS5)
2. Gen 8 Pokemon (acts as increasing hype for Sword/Shield DLC)
3. Master Chief (acts as increasing hype for Infinite, Game Pass/xCloud comes to Switch at some point)
4. Monster Hunter (acts as increasing hype for a newly announced Monster Hunter game)
5. Ezio (Altair was a Mii costume and Ezio is the most iconic assassin from the Assassin's Creed franchise)
6. Rex & Pyra (ends the DLC where it began, a Rex Mii costume started the first fighters pass because XC2 released too late to be considered for the base roster)
@Grumblevolcano If Ezio was coming, I feel like the Altair costume would've been held back for that. Honestly, with Rabbids and Altair deconfirmed, their most iconic characters with Nintendo ties are Rayman and the Prince. And Ubi likes to pretend Prince of Persia doesn't exist, so I'm wagering Rayman will be in this lot.
@link3710 They've given more attention to Prince of Persia than Splinter Cell, last month a Prince of Persia VR game was announced. Rayman and Splinter Cell are the 2 main big Ubisoft franchises that are MIA at the moment. As for the Mii costumes in general, they're in batches of 5 so I could see other assassins in another Ubisoft batch.
@Rexenokid Some of the most popular videogame characters still get added as spirits or costumes, and they obviously still deconfirm fighters.
For the next Smash you're right. Of course they'll try to add some of those heavily requested legendary spirits, some of the best-selling costumes, and a couple assist trophies as fighters, but for Ultimate it's still... up air.
There hasn't been proof for either outcome: We still haven't seen a spirit or costume being released as a fighter. Nintendo/Sakurai can easily add 6 new fighters that are not in the game in any spirit or costume form, just like all the ones from the first Fighters Pass. The only possible exception so far is Rex&Pyra for the reason that came directly from Sakurai's mouth. We'll at least have to wait for Fighters Pass 2 info to assume anything.
Anyway, my question still stands: How is a Rayman amiibo possible (without looking bad)? I'm asking because I feel that's the reason Rayman was dismissed as a fighter right from the get-go.
@Grumblevolcano I hadn't heard about that, that's honestly amazing. I thought they wanted everyone to forget about PoP in favor of Assassin's Creed. Splinter Cell's at least heavily rumored to be in development, I'm kind of expecting it at E3 this year.
As for the Amiibo, keep in mind we've received Rayman figurines in the past. The scarf usually connects the head to the body, while the poses are picked so that the hands are attached to either the head, the body, or obstacles.
On the note that Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden is the last true 8-bit hero: No, he's not. Just wanna mention a couple 80s videogame franchises with characters that were more or at least as iconic: Bubble Bobble, Bomberman, Wonder Boy, Contra, Ghosts'n Goblins, Maniac Mansion, Mystical Ninja (more iconic ninja), Shinobi (more iconic ninja), Double Dragon, Solomon's Key (also from Tecmo), Bomb Jack (also from Tecmo), Boulder Dash, Alex Kidd, Turrican, Bonk, R-Type, Prince of Persia, etc., etc., etc.
@SKTTR Joe Musashi and Goemon aren't more iconic than Ryu, at least not anymore. Ryu has reached multiple generations, even if the games weren't as big back in the day.
I'll give you Bomberman, Contra, Prince of Persia, and maybe Bubble Bobble, GnG and Wonder Boy though. Sure that's a list of good series, but not Ninja Gaiden level, considering how few made it out of that era with any sort of notable follow-ups.
I think the Arms fighter will probably have several different skins of different characters, like Bowser Jr. That seems most likely to me considering they said it would be an Arms fighter but they didn't actually announce who the character is.

I think the ARMS fighter will be a character that isn't already playable in ARMS so like a promo for ARMS getting more content or ARMS 2 being announced.
