@ReaderRagfish It’s the main image for a troll Sakurai Amino wiki. You would think Google would actually find a verified image to place on their background information screen, but I guess it only checks the person’s Wikipedia page (which, coincidentally, does not have a picture of Sakurai).

I'm more surprised that the Sakurai fans didn't try to change that picture to a real photo of him, since I don't think Sakurai likes the current picture much (based on the Japanese culture, I don't know much about him).
@BMO_Advanced@EvilLucario Ewww, I'm not looking forward to that. I've NEVER been able to keep track of my characters on screen with all the launching. Most of the time I don't even know where I am or where I've landed, I just mash buttons and hope for the best until I figure it out. I always felt that was the worst part about Smash...making it worse? Eww.
@ReaderRagfish Wow, he must have lost a ton of weight working on this game, he's a skeleton now!
@ReaderRagfish not as funny, but the other day when I looked for "founder of nintendo", at the top it shows the correct name of the founder, Fusajiro Yamauchi, but with the picture of Hiroshi Yamauchi.
@HobbitGamer It's not about terrible, it's about not being able to follow the animation at those speeds and random directions! The RESULT makes me terrible, but it's not the cause
Yeah, I bought it....already preloaded digitally World of Light was all I needed to make me get it after the extreme disappointment of the board game.
Nooo! Another gamer down! Curse these life circumstances. @AlternateButtons Hope you don’t have to wait too long. I was bummed out in October when I thought I couldn’t grab Starlink. I only could because I didn’t have to pay someone to fix the truck.
@NEStalgia Yeah, it gets pretty ridiculous especially on tinier stages! I thought you’d gotten it, but couldn’t remember. When was that app supposed to launch?
@AlternateButtons Aw man, that really sucks. I was kinda in your shoes, as I spent quite a lot of money during Black Friday and I'm short of money. I recently made some hard decisions, but I think I should still be able to keep my pre-order now, even with my wallet literally in life support.
That's a shame, though. Hopefully you get to play the game sooner rather than later!
@HobbitGamer Tell me about it! I wanted to pick up Starlink ($40 is a no-brainer), M+R Gold Edition, and God of War PS4 (IT WAS FRIGGIN' $17 AT FRIGGIN' GAMESTOP DURING BLACK FRIDAY), but my wallet took an extremely hard hit on Black Friday. Sure, I don't regret spending a lot of money (okay, maybe I do a teeny tiny bit lol), on what I bought, but man. The struggle is real haha! Thankfully I can drown my sorrows in Smash Ultimate when it releases next week.
Looking at the ridiculous, exhausting, excessively bloated character roster of SSBU, it's funny (or maybe sad) to think of this quote from Sakurai (from 2008) regarding Smash Bros:
"I'm really against the idea of merely creating a sequel that would add modes or increase the number of characters on the roster. All those sort of things that simply fatten up the game is something I'd like to avoid".
@Haywired I think Sakurai is referring more towards games that do not change up gameplay with their sequels, instead only adding new modes and characters. Ultimate really changes up the gameplay with the new tweaks, balancing, and options.

@Haywired Irrelevant to Smash considering every game is vastly different from each other, plus features very different gameplay that plays differently from each other. Being good at Smash 4 does not mean you can be good at Melee, or being good at 64 does not mean you'll be good at Brawl. Even Ultimate further changes up the gameplay and further embraces the competitive side to balance between the party and competitive aspects.
But hey, the game is just like some bloated CD album or movie, amirite?
@Haywired Oh, you meant this quote that actually had more context when presented fully with the question? As in, talking about a sequel to Brawl during the time Brawl was new.
IGN: Have you done everything you can do with the Smash Bros. franchise now? In other words, can Wii owners look forward to a Brawl sequel in the future?
Masahiro Sakurai: Well, the series has already had three iterations so I cannot say with one-hundred percent confidence that there won't be any additional Smash Bros. games ever. But, at the same time I'd really like to note that I feel like with Brawl there are already so many modes and so much to do that it's really hard to exhaust what you can do with this game. I'm really against the idea of merely creating a sequel that would add modes or increase the number of characters in the roster — all the sort of things that just simply fatten up the game. I'd like to avoid just doing that if a sequel ever came out.

I think I misinterpreted your post. I thought you were referring to the $10 and gold coins as being enough to actually get SSBU, but now I realize that is not the case.
