Well as someone who generally doesn’t get too excited by Smash (having never really gotten into it all that much), I’ve gotta say that impressed the heck outta me as a ‘non-believer’!

The adventure looking mode, story and spirits looked to provide sufficient SP stuff that I am very very tempted to take the plunge now.

Sorry that some of you didn’t seem to enjoy it as much, sucks when you get those feels, especially for something you’re passionate about...

Petey Piranha gives me a big Dhalsim vibe - hope he’s not as annoying to fight against as the big D was back in SF2!

@BrainOfGrimlock Yeah, I'm happy with all the single player content. It looks like alot of depth and meta to it. That's the kind of thing that has kept me playing Starlink, so I'll definitely being partaking in it eagerly.

I thought it was funny that folks' mood changed once a vocal track played while showing the same screens for Spirits that folks were upset about.

I think my most hyped fighter is Piranha Plant, it actually looks like a ton of fun.

@Octane The text in the direct said "free for a limited time" and not "available for a limited time" so I assume he'll be made available for purchase later on along with the 5 DLC fighters.

okay Adventure Mode alone got me to pre-order this tomorrow.

I thought that was bloody amazing, though so much to take in. Would have been better if it could have been an English speaking voice as i was trying to read and watch what was going on at same time, not ideal

@Octane Didn't they it's just an early bonus for pre orders? And everyone else will get it later? Still shady in my opinion.

Yeah, this game is still awesome. The new story mode sounds better than anything I could imagine and overall the roster is amazing.

Dont wish to sound thick, but the World of Light mode is going to available to play from the start isnt i? It wasnt clear to me if this is the case or its something being worked on?

The Direct gave some good stuff, but was loaded up with detail that's not really necessary.
World of Light looks like it might be a meaty experience, but watching that trailer I was reminded of the Everything Wrong With Super Smash Bros. Brawl video.

Piranha Plant is the new best character in Smash.

Pretty awesome direct tbh. Ken was pretty much a given, spirits look interesting, but World of Light adventure mode, was just the icing on the cake. That cinematic and the vocalist....just take my money.

World of Light looks good, the new characters are ok and DLC confirmed to be happening is very good (there's still hope for Elma). Don't think Smash Ultimate will beat Torna for my GotY though.

@Tsurii just a little bit weird for me - they haven’t started working on it/have nothing planned for the dlc and therefore nothing to show us yet however they do know there’ll be 5 packs and it’ll take about a year? Hmm. I suspect they know a lot more about what’s being done than they’re letting on buuut, no harm, no foul - they’re not forcing me to buy it now (unless I missed something) so happy to wait and for them to tempt me, not to mention that unlike a lot of other games I don’t feel shortchanged (in any way) by the base game from what i’ve seen.

You do wonder just where Nintendo can now take the Smash series, this is just epic, so much content i just dont know how they ever go about topping it.

Paid DLC seems to be similar to breath of the wild, DLC 1 & 2, though I'm sure more will be revealed. They did say they are just beginning to work on it, while putting the finishing touches to the final game. Can't wait, so much Smash it's almost too much to handle.

@ReaderRagfish gold coins for physical games are only available one year from release, so you may find that a lot of your games have expired coins.

Seeing Rex as a Mii costume and Shantae as a damn sticker broke my heart.

It's been clarified on the Smash Bros. website that Piranha Plant will be available for purchase even if you don't get him within the first 2 months for free.
