Topic: Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble

Yey-yeah! Only 1 month and 2 weeks to go until release.

Rooting for this to be a return to form for the series. Online multiplayer looks like a natural fit for the game and can't wait to play it!

Anyone else planning on picking it up? (You are totally forgiven to be nervous after Monkey Target!)

I'm really hoping the multiplayer is as chaotic and fun as it looks.

Banana Mania was a great step in the right direction, but it wasn't as good as the originals? In terms of gameplay and visuals it was worse, but it was an enjoyable experience.
I'll wait for reviews and gameplay. The multiplayer doesn't interest me so I'll see what else there is

I'm really hoping this is a good one. I love the first 2 games, I bought (but have yet to play) Banana Mania, but Banana Blitz was only ok outside of the music (and had genuinely unplayable minigames), 3D was overly mediocre, the last good one was stuck on the Vita so no one played it. So I really want this one to be good.

To me, it honestly looks really promising, from what I've seen of the courses they look like they can get quite challenging which is really good to see, as well as them looking unique and themed compared to generic feeling obstacle courses that could feature in previous games. Plus, I personally loved banana mania and thought it was brilliant fan service, so I've got a feeling they're starting to get what makes the games click.
(Also personally I've never been a fan of monkey target and think its massively overrated, some people are massively downgrading banana mania for monkey target and its really really not fair)

My main 'concern' (I'm not losing sleep or anything) is hoping they have tightened the engine up since Mania. The ball rolling physics felt disconnected to the momentum (if you get me.)

Yeah that's fair. As someone who originally played the deluxe version on ps2 as a kid (oh gosh), mania's controls weren't much of a problem for me, but I can definitely see how they feel different and probably slightly worse to the gamecube titles

The trailers I watched were really good. Just so colourful, chaotic and fun. I want to play it.

I haven’t played banana mania yet (curse you backlog!!!) and honestly banana rumble does look fun.
Although I’m not a big fan of the redesign’s though honestly that’s a minor nitpick for me.

My brain is kind of fried after all the new announcements in the direct, but this game is coming next week right?

Split between wanting to support it day one...or waiting for a sale.

I'm disappointed the reviews say the multiplayer is bad; I was looking forward to that. I may wait on the game for a while, but if anyone here gets it this week, it would be interesting to hear thoughts.

Finally grabbed this game. I've completely failed to get the time goal for 1 of the levels in world 1 so 100% completion is not looking good right now 😆

I'm enjoying the game though.

I am glad you got the game, it is so much fun. And do not worry about 100% completion, just try to beat every level. I think beating every level should be more than enough challenge for most people.

I wasn't sure about this one, but after playing the demo today, I'm pretty keen to buy the full version!

Has anyone been able to buy it from the eShop on sale?
I'm curious, because last month I managed to get Sonic X Shadow Generations on sale, but upon checking Deku Deals for the Australian eShop, it seems as though there hasn't been a sale yet for Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble.

I'm wondering if people from other countries found it via the eShop on sale yet.

In NA eShop, there was a 50% off sale back in November (when I bought it) and apparently another 50% off sale in December. I have no idea why those sales haven't also gone to Australia or Europe. Japan seems to be having a 40% off sale right now. Weird that they're all so different.
