@Croctopus But will there be a "hard mode" because it looks like they're streamlining the combat too much to the point where a simple mechanic like "Pressing A just at the right time for extra damage" is going to damage all enemies thereby making the combat easier. Accessibility is really going to mess with the balance of this game.
Yeah, I'm glad there's some new stuff and gameplay mechanics, but all of them seem to be making the game a lot easier. Not sure if I'll pick this up or not, even though I love the original. Hopefully they'll show more before it comes out.
I heard the rumors the day before the Direct, but couldn't believe it. Then my inner 90s child screamed when it was shown to be real. Can't wait to play this. There are a few things I worry might've been changed, but hopefully not.
So, we're getting closer to this game's release. I was randomly thinking lately and so I'm bumping this thread.
For those of us who played the game, Star Hill, you get one of the stars here and you kinda just...get it. You think the remake could introduce a new boss here or something? Was there supposed to be a boss here?
...Then again Wind Waker had that one dungeon that never made it in even in the remake.
Ah well, just wondering.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Game looks great so far, beautiful graphics and cutscenes. And its great that they kept the "squished characters" look from the original. If you have never played it before (it only came out in Europe on Wii vc) then you are in for a treat. I played it on vc, but I guess I'll also get this version somewhere in the future. That clown-car attack in the trailer, is that new? I don't remember it.
@Snatcher
They did change some stuff to make it more of a remaster. Tailored the controls for the Wii U gamepad (I think they had the inventory on the gamepad screen, which was cool), simplified the triforce hunt at the end of the game, introduced the faster sail. I'm sure there are others, but last time I played it was on my Wii U when it launched, so it's been awhile.
SMRPG is looking absolutely fantastic, but my interest in it has currently all but evaporated after the recent announcement that a certain other Mario RPG is coming to Switch XD
The Mario RPG Remake still looks like a great time though and I'll most likely grab it after my adventures through Rogueport come next year! :3
Currently MIA for exams; see you all in a bit! o7

I already pre-ordered the Mario RPG remake. My second voucher was burning a hole in my pocket and I didn't want to wait for Peach game.
I've never played Mario RPG so I'm interested to see what all the hype is about. I'm not sure if I will be in the mood for another Mario RPG game by the time paper Mario comes out but we'll see; I still find it odd they are coming out so close to each other.
@FishyS I'd guess it's to do with that Super Mario RPG is a Square Enix game and that both games are planned for Switch with Switch 2 approaching. In these current times where acquisitions are common, some company could acquire Square Enix and Super Mario RPG would be lost to time forever. Kind of like how VC never got Diddy Kong Racing because of Microsoft owning Rare.
Only 10 days to go folks. I never played the original, and I could've over the last 10 or so years but for some reason I chose not to. Kinda glad i didnt with this game looking to be a mirror image of the snes original.
