Honestly, anyone who used the 10 sec timer was either a troll or a super flashy auto.

I never lowered it under 100, Don't get making a 10 sec mario level.

One thing that could be cool with a timer would be to collect clocks like in the most recent Mario games. It would be a cool gimmick in a level. Also my personal hopes for SMM2 are bowser statues (shake them up and get laser statues, hopping statues, or all 3 when you shake), night themes for each theme (which are hinted, but not confirmed), chargin' chucks, fuzzies, new suits, cooligans, boss bass(which could be the SMB3 porcu-puffer variant), nippers, fliprus, more bosses, spike, and just other enemies that appeared in past games. It doesn't really make sense to have themes, and not give us access to the assets that were in those games. Also I'm pretty sure vertical levels will be a thing, so I'm not too concerned about that. More sections would be nice as well, but I can understand the limitations because players don't want to play levels that are too long. That being said, checkpoints could easily make up for it since there would be a checkpoint for each section. OH and world map design would be amazing as well.

I'm really looking forward to this! An unlimited amount of 2D Mario levels!! I'm somewhat hoping they'll surprise us with local co-op, but I don't expect it. Besides that, I hope it will be easier to separate the good from the bad than it was on 3DS. Man that sucked... I've heard better stories on that part about the Wii U version though, so my expectations on that regard are positive.

Europe's getting a limited edition of this game. You get the game and a year of NSO. Nice try Nintendo, but you can't fool anyone with your cash-grab of a service!

Own up to Joy-Con Drift, Nintendo. We all know it's your fault

FragRed

@TheAwesomeBowser Want a bet? If you want to make and upload levels or download them, which is effectively what this game is about, you’re gonna need that paid service.

@FragRed That's exactly what I'm scared about.

Xbox live gold and PSN are the real cash grabs here. I just don't see why everyone is so up in arms about 20$ a year.

Or don't, it's your time after all.

I have paid NSO for $20 / year.
I'm not a fool.
$20 for one year = $20 : 12 = $1.67 for one month.
It's very cheap.

@MysticGengar Let's see...
1. It's peer-2-peer which is unacceptable in 2019.
2. The snail-speed drip-feed of 2-3 NES games a month makes me want to Thanos Snap myself.
3. I'm pretty sure not telling your customers what's in a service until they subscribe is a serious offence. That's what Nintendo's doing with the Special Offers.
4. Cloud Saves don't support Splatoon or Pokemon all because Nintendo forgot to ban a few hackers.
5. Why Nintendo's using a clunky smartphone app for voice chat when PlayStation and Xbox have been doing it on the console for years is beyond me.
6. Nintendo literally murdered Virtual Console just to release this terrible, laggy subscription service.
7. The Online portion used to be free which just makes paying for it one big insult.
8. They know everyone's going to pay for it so they're not gonna be bothered to improve it.

Overall, the whole thing just feels like something a student coded in a few weeks. #notworth20

Ah yes, let's spoil all the Mario Maker fun and have yet another value for money discussion about NSO... There's a thread counting 61 pages about that already.

@TheAwesomeBowser You can make sure the online features (=basically the game) will be behind NSO, otherwise they wouldn't have an incentive to sell a game+subscription bundle.

@Anti-Matter I'm a living Infinity Gauntlet when it comes to hating on NSO.

@toiletduck Sorry, but if that's true then Nintendo has just lost a potential customer. Hopefully they'll learn next time.

@toiletduck Yeah, I get the feeling Mario Maker 2 will be pretty much unplayable without NSO as no other games have a NSO bundle. Animal Crossing will probably be affected in the same way.

I hope you can at least download levels and play them offline without NSO to make this game future proof.

1. Get better wifi. You can't POSSIBLY have terrible luck with every match.
2. Would you perfer none at all? Imagine that.
3. Tell that to the entire industry, especially those who put games up for pre-order. Also, most of the "special offers" are optional, or are in devolpment right now.
4. Okay, thats kind of a fair point. Maybe not the exact reason, but thats pretty bad.
5. Nintendo is always a few years behind. They'll figure it out eventually. However, that app has many other uses, such as the upcoming Smash World.
6. No. Just no. Keep in mind that what we have now is MUCH cheaper than virtual console. The starting lineup alone could have costed around 80$ if VC was still a thing. Sure, game distribution is slow, but it was almost the exact same pace as the Wii before it. Plus, it's free as long as you keep subscribing. It's not like you're paying an extra 10$ for just the NES games, but most people would be buying for most of the other features. I haven't met a single person who said they bought for NES games. This is mostly an add-on to make the price more worth it, or at least thats how I see it.
7. "It smells like broke in here!" Not everything can be free forever. They were going to go to paid sooner or later, and we all knew it since the wii days. Just like everybody else. The price isn't that bad either, considering PS4 and XB1 prices for 1 year of online play. It was already free for the first few years of the switch, and they already told us it would be coming soon.
8. You already said the "special offers" were a mystery. That means there's more being made. Also, ever heard of StAbAbIlItY uPdAtEs? Those could be applying to online as well as the main console, to make crashing less of an issue.

This isn't the NSO thread, so I'm gonna stop talking about it here. You do you, so agree to disagree. This is what I think, and I doubt it will change anytime soon.

Getting Online on my PS4 was NOT free Anymore.
I have to pay $60 for PS Plus for 1 year if I want to play Portal Knights PS4 Online to get Freebies from Keen Games.
Right now, I CANNOT even access the Online Play from Portal Knights PS4 due to haven't subscribe PS Plus.
