Now completed everything in the main game with Mario except for Champion's Road. This has to be the most infuriating experience I've had with a game in a while. Not only are these the most difficult platforming challenges in the game, but they come with no powerups or checkpoints. Been playing for an hour and not even managed to get halfway through!
I'm considering stopping here, although it would be a shame not to go for 100% :/
How were other people's experiences with this level?

Luigi's Mansion 3 is the worst for giving you cool rewards you'll never use after getting 100%. I spent so much time getting all the Boos and all the gems and stuff, and then you get some kinda neat cosmetic things like for your flashlight but... I already 100%'ed the game, I'm not going back lol
Ya know - it really would be great if I could see how many hours I've invested playing this so far. I'm about halfway through World Castle in 3D World and I've finished Bowser's Fury.
Instead the Switch can only tell me - 'First played 9 days ago'. Well yeah, no sh**, and thanks for that useless piece of information.
@TeeJay
True, but yea, it's pretty dead. At least last time I checked.
Anyway, back to this thread, I played a bit of Bowser's Fury last night with my daughter - I love it! Mario seems to have full motion in it rather than the 8 directions... or maybe I'm just losing it lol
In World 6 now & some of those stamps are starting to be hidden pretty well now. I must have replayed 6-1 (the one with all the clear pipes) like 5 times before I figured out where it's was located (and a similar number of times for 6-3, the Japanese castle level).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Well, just beat the main game of 3D World. It's pretty much what I thought it was, a regular old linear Mario game with some interesting level gimmicks. To its credit I do think it's the best of the linear Marios, but that's not saying much because most of them are fairly samey gameplay wise.
This game is also really irritating to play with a drifting Joycon. I got sick of dealing with it to the point where I resorted to using Peach on most of the levels to compensate, and I pretty much had to give up on the stamp on A Beam in the Dark because it's nearly unbeatable as Luigi. Definitely not 100%ing this game without a fully working Joycon, if A Beam in the Dark is this hard with a drifting Joycon, I don't even want to bother with Champion's Road (I'm not even sure I want to bother with Champion's Road period, but definitely not without a working controller). But even beyond the drift, the controls feel a bit off, they're too stiff and there's not a good sense of momentum.
So yeah, I'm glad I waited until they added Bowser's Fury to this game before I bought it. The base game isn't all that special and it's the Bowser's Fury content that really puts this game over the top. It's not a bad game by any means, it just doesn't stand out all that much to me, the level gimmicks don't really make up for the fact that it's the same old formula done to death, it's the change in mechanics in Bowser's Fury that do.
As much as I love 3D World, I'm noticing that the speed increase is sometimes proving more of a hindrance than a help. Even when I'm using Peach, who had the slowest movement speed of all the characters, I'm finding myself overshooting jumps that I would never have done so in the Wii U version. I overall like the faster movement speed, but it has killed me on multiple occasions because I was too used to the original.
100 percenting the game would be a total nightmare.
Do the stamps really serve any purpose to collect? On several levels I've made the call to skip past the stamp as it's not worth the trouble dying for if unsuccessful in pursuit of it. If I get them, great, if not, who the hell cares.
Currently on World Bowser and looking forward to it being finished. Solid game without being outstanding.
I had it on the Wii U and re-purchased but I'm not noticing the faster speed as an hinderance myself. Maybe it's because I've not got that far into 3D World yet, I'm taking my time so far in between other games.
