I'm about half way through Bowser's Fury. I'm sad to say I'm kinda disappointed with it.
It's not 'bad' in any way, but it really lacks the same kind of god-tier design that most of the other 3D Mario games have.
Instead it just feels kinda aimless and random. There's really no flow or pacing to it. It honestly feels like this was all of the ideas that they didn't think were good enough to go into Odyssey 2, so they used for this instead.
@BruceCM
You should bear in mind that in order to unlock the final world in 3D World, you need every green star, every stamp and a gold flag (hit the top of the finishing pole) on every level.
Peach's walk and run animation looks so funny. 😂 She's definitely my favourite character to play as but I feel like her floating almost makes it a little TOO easy so I'll save her for very difficult levels I keep dying on.
@Clyde_Radcliffe no not like 3d world. It’s like SMO. Controls great once you get use to the sprinting. Looks absolutely beautiful too. The world is bigger that I first thought and it’s all connected so no loading for maps.
You can also still carry on with some shines while bowser interrupts so long you don’t get the giga bell.
Really enjoying it so far
Weird it controls fully 3D but they kept the sprint button. Almost sounds like a kind of forced way of connecting it to 3D World.
As on the Wii U, I have mixed feelings. Level design is great - in traditional Mario style there's something new to look forward to every level, which is great. But am I the only one who finds the control a little off? Precise jumping feels quite difficult, with the backflip being incredibly difficult to pull off (I have no issue with this in any other Mario game). Plus, as mentioned previously, I think they've made the characters a bit too fast. It's a shame because in most Mario games the controls feel spot-on...but here it feels like everything is not quite optimised (I'm playing as Mario for the most part, by the way).
@Dezzy I'm seriously clueless... I've been trying that without any luck at all, it always directly uses the selected item. We're talking about activating a menu to select the item with the up-button in a level, right? I don't understand what I'm doing wrong
@timleon
Keep in mind that this game is bound to 8 directions, I believe, not the full range of motion you get in 3D Mario games. Maybe that's what is throwing you off, I don't know.
I played it 8 years ago when it released, but I had only just gotten into gaming at the time. Didn’t really have a broad range of experience across different genres and franchises, so I was curious to play the game again and see if I still loved it now just as much as I did back then.
And.... yup. I totally do. In fact I think I love it even more now. Having played nearly a decades worth of games it just makes me appreciate the real gems that much more.
@jump
That’s not a problem, since the online only lets you play with friends. There are no strangers to speak of.
And given the pandemic and all, it’s a good feature to have.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
epic.. i should be online like asap, im mid world castle, tryna get green stars but were only doing a single try for each level and come back to 100% it
