@Lroy If you're up for a few matches later let me know. We can try it out.UK to Thailand is far but I'm curious if it will still be playable. I could be getting matched with folk from North America for all I know. The game isn't out in Japan until the Autumn.
@OorWullie My kids are still both sick, so my work and day/sleep hrs are all messed up. Don't know whether I'm coming or going, so yeah can most likely jump on at some point.
I saw some YouTube videos and people were definitely playing it in Japan. Can only assume they imported it or downloaded via eShop but basically every match this one person got was against a person with a Japanese name. Then this other video was actually by a Japanese person playing the game in Japan. So it is out there, we are likely all just randomly getting matched. Why Capcom omitted regional match-making when they must have known the online would be affected by this issue is beyond me.
@OorWullie I'm going to boot the game up now if you are about and fancy a match or two. I may need to dash at short notice. So if I suddenly disappear you know why.

Just piggybacking off of @Lroy
1. When 2 of us from Pacific Time Zone, USA were playing, it was pretty much lag free. We played about 25 matches and it was the most consistent connection I've had since SFC launched last week. When I was spectating Europe vs. Europe matches, same thing- very smooth looking matches. When we were playing across the ocean though every match was super laggy. Not completely unplayable, but not a whole lot of fun either.
2. Yeah a password system for private lobbies would be nice. Right now it's just set up so that only your friends can view your private lobbies and any of your friends can join, first come first serve. I'd love to see a tournament type of option similar to the Mario Tennis demo from last weekend.
3. The Switch exclusive tournament mode is offline only and requires 4 Switches linked up locally and 4 copies of the game with 2 players on each system. So imagine each console as a mini arcade machine and it's winner up, loser down. Again, a Mario Tennis style tournament option would be great. Here's a link that explains it in more detail- https://venturebeat.com/2018/03/18/tournament-battle-is-capco...
4. I'm also in the Adult Switch Gamers group. I'm on USA Pacific Coast Time, so 8 hours behind GMT, but I work nights so I'm usually playing around 1-3 PM and 1-3 AM my time. My FC is in my signature so shoot me a friend request if you wish. And check out the Adult Switch Gamers group for a bunch of oldies playing and talking about games.

Still in disbelief that Capcom have put the game out with the online in this state. Talk about wasting the potential of the game. Online is a major aspect of any modern day release of STREET FIGHTER II surely?
Was ULTRA STREET FIGHTER II as bad online?

@mauhlin12@Lroy I'm bowing out, It's frustrating me. Matches seemed to run smoother between you 2. Real shame if they can't get the online fixed. That and the weak sound are what's holding this back from being the perfect package. It's 2 pretty major things to mess up though.
@Lroy@OorWullie Thanks for the matches gentlemen. That was fun but this lag is so bad. I heard SF5 launched with poor online and it improved with time so I've got my fingers crossed things will get better. When I said I was seeing 3 FPS I wasn't exaggerating.

So does this game have video functionality? USFII didn't and never did.
I'm looking forward for this game, that I'll get on Friday. Online mode is not the main reason I buy it, I'm not an online gamer and use my Switch on the go 95% of the time anyway, but I hope they'll fix it and maybe I'll try online playing when I'm really bored.
@Moroboshi876 Aside from the sound qualilty (too low within the mix) offline is largely golden. So enjoy. Although I haven't played in handheld yet, so can't speak to how that might control.
