I might, one of these days, start a new game and play it in Wild Mode. Maybe that'll help me get better at dealing with the Ultimate Cup Z in that difficulty...without copy abilities. lol
I just realized I forgot to mention that, Cup Z in Wild Mode I can easily beat....it's doing it without any copy abilities. xD

As someone who isn’t really a Kirby fan I have to say just how great I think this game is. I’m many ways I think it’s more successful at evolving a classic level based 2d platformer into full 3d than Mario 3d world.
I’m some ways I think that’s because Kirby as a character has always been so flexible & the combat forward facing (rather than jumping on heads) that it makes for a more natural transition. In others it’s just because of fundamentally great design.
Difficulty wise I don’t think it’s the mega easy game that some of the games press (& people on boards like this) suggest either. Most of the bosses (later ones especially) are tough and every level has tons of secrets/little bonus challenges that less experienced players would miss many times over. Simply completing the levels is usually pretty easy but there’s always a lot to reach for.
My thoughts on the difficulty is that it’s actually exactly where a “mainstream” 3d platform game should be in 2022.
The only negative thing I can say about the game is that we never got this game on GameCube or Wii. A 3d kirby game like this would have been a mega hit on Wii.
Yeah I'm just glad the final "arena"'s final boss has an entirely new phase like the 3DS games. Void from Star Allies was slightly disappointing because of this.

Kirby is pretty good. Gorgeous game and I love the sound track. I do like star allies a little better but I think it has more to do with design. NEAD was always very good with shadowing, level design and camera movement which made their 3D games (such as mario 64) easy for me to navigate. Which is key for me to enjoy platformers. Sadly HAL isn’t quite there so I often have trouble distinguishing distances between enemies and objects in game and to me kirby isn’t as fluid as mario to allow me to quickly avoid things I have misjudged. So that means that star allies is more enjoyable for being essentially 2D/2.5D. I am not upset with HAL but it does show the difference in design philosophy between them and Nintendo. I will keep going of course as the game is fun. Just a bit more frustrating for me than a person without my condition.

How is this one for younger kids? I have a 5 year old that is newer to gaming and finds Mario 3D World a little too challenging but he likes Mario Kart. Is Kirby a good intro platformer?

@cordova94 My gut instinct would say yes, at least up until the first credits roll. The post-game would probably be too much, and the last couple of bosses can be rough.
Being able to fly if you jump off of the level by accident is a huge benefit for less experienced players.
Also, the whole game is co-op, which should let you help out.
@link3710 amazing! Thanks for the feedback. My little guy struggles with gross motor skills and because he maintains some of that primitive reflexiveness, I try to help him develop hand-eye coordination and such through several venues, including gaming. But I have to be careful not to set him up for too much frustration initially and also respect that he can't read so the game has to be somewhat explanatory without that. He seems to be taking to Rayman Legends but I think he'd like Kirby. I will check it out.

@cordova94 Yeah, the game has minimal text in general. Almost all (or maybe just all) of it is to explain the town area, which is an area where you can't die or take damage. The levels themselves are designed to teach by experience, and feature no text that I can recall?
....So, Son of a Glitch came out with a new video and it was for this game. Of course he saves the best for last and, yeah I'm gonna have to try this out. Apparently with the final boss in Ultimate Cup Z, once you get to the second form, you can basically spawn ANOTHER final boss, while the second form is still there...and apparently you can keep going. lol
Yeah I'm gonna have to mess with this. xD
EDIT: I tried it out, getting to that point with the hammer, with a maxim tomato...AND double health...on spring breeze mode...ugh, that was a pain for me. So yeah I wasn't able to do too much with this glitch, apparently you can spawn even more final bosses here, but yeah I died shortly after doing this once. lol
Hi there for my first post in Nintendo life.
I cleared every Treasure Road stage but i can't unlock the figure associated with that.
Any help would be appreciate!
@Eagly It’s pretty easy overall, even on Wild Mode. The only challenge for me came with the boss fights. Not to say that it’s mindless, though. It’s easy like New Super Mario Bros. is easy, but requires some thought for the platforming sections and collecting certain items.

@Eagly ah yeah that makes sense. I meant “easy” as in simple, but I get it if you don’t quite have a hang on the controls.
But yeah I do recommend Forgotten Land. It’s a great game and it really surprised me. Nothing mindblowing or revolutionary, just a solid, fun platformer.

I thought this was gonna be one of my "play before getting a Switch 2" games I've missed out on. Guess not. Mildly relieved since I have too many of those anyway.
I don't care that much about performance for BOTW or whatever, but I don't have this game yet so might as well wait for when I get the Switch 2.
Star-Crossed World looks amazing! From the looks of it, the levels will start out in a familiar place, and then the level will take a whole different route to somewhere else. This is a fun idea, but very confusing for marketing since it could make it look like just a remixed version like the post-game content.
There's a new place on the map, not known if it's a level, world, or new hub world, but it's looks interesting and important.
Based off of descriptions from the game, it seems like there's multiple new mouthful modes (Spring included), and even a new ability. There could be more abilities, but that's all they've said so far. This isn't even 100% since they claimed they showed a new ability in the Treehouse and it wasn't there, but based on the description it seems like there should be one. Not sure where they'd put this ability since it should be symmetrical in the Copy Ability shop, which makes me think they could add 2 new abilities.
It seems like there will be new missions for the levels, those were very fun in the main game, I'm really looking forward to this! The story has you collecting these Luma-like creatures instead of Waddle Dees, so I wonder what that's all about. Looks like a new Waddle Dee character is in this DLC as well (kind of resembles Bandana Dee but I think it's a new character), so I wonder what role it'll have.
The sea opens up on the map at one point, interested to see where that leads, as we don't really see it for that long. It looks like there may be a door in there somewhere, but I have no clue what this is for.
Overall this looks like it'll be an awesome time, still over 4 months away so we still got a bit to wait. With this and Kirby Air Riders coming this year, it seems like a great time to be a Kirby fan!
I'm good with my current Switch 1 version.
I already smelled a scam product from Switch 2 version that using code in box for upgrading to Switch 2 version instead of providing the actual Switch 2 version in cartridge.
Also, I'm not a huge fan of Kirby.
I only have two Kirby games on Switch, Star Allies and Forgotten Land.
I have finished the storyline for both of them and that's it. Not really interested to replay the previous levels again.
