Topic: Splatoon 3

@Fizza my experience with it, especially as a backline sniper, is people just swim upto me and flank me. unless im way in the back hiding. it takes so long to actually get going, i miss stingray

I think ninendolife & IGN's, poissibly Digital Foundry, reviews answer that. I think IGN or Digital Foundry made the point, that the new single player is the best single player yet, even if it isn't next gen revolutionary. I think they went on to say, if you were to pick a Splatoon just for the single player, they thought Splatoon 3 was the one to get. But granted, that's someone else's opinion. I've only played Splatoon 2. I haven't picked up Splatoon 3 yet today.

What do you mean, it's tricky finding someone to play online with? The game matches you with players. That's the way I've played 99.5% of the time, solo queuing, letting the game match me with teammates, and it works well. I bet most people in here play like that. It's not a perfect matching system, but it's decent. Even if you do join Switch friends, I never noticed winning or losing more (with Splatoon 2, you wouldn't even be on the same team half the time. Although, I don't know yet, if Splatoon 3 keeps you on the same team as your friend.) And the games matching system has rubberband-ing built into it, and always makes sure you can't win or lose all the time. Granted, you can have a crappy, hopeless losing streak 5-10 games some days, but if you come back the next day, or stay with the game long enough, you'll get matched with stronger teammates and get some wins. (Also, I'm in your age bracket.🤣)

Better than a coin, I guess. Maybe one of my nieces will like them. They're not bad looking.

My initial impressions are really, really good. I’m not sure what it is exactly, but this game feels quite a bit more responsive than 2. Everything feels faster-paced and snappy, from movement to menuing. Battles are faster-paced as well thanks to the new respawning system.

The graphics look a bit nicer, too. Ink looks a little thicker than before, not just a thin layer. I like the new color schemes as well. Things like lighting and textures seem to be improved as well.

But the MUSIC. Oh my goodness, once again Splatoon floors me with how awesome it’s soundtracks are. It was such a nostalgia bomb hearing “Now or Never!” in a new style.

I’ll definitely be sharing more thoughts as I play through more. However, any worries I had about this game have completely subsided.

So, is everyone allowing the game to import Splatoon 2 save data? Anyone know what the benefit is?

@WoomyNNYes When it comes to importing said save data, is it basically like Pokemon where it'll detect you've played the game and give you the bonuses because of it or do you lose everything in 2 in order to bring it over to 3? I highly doubt it's the latter but as someone who hasn't got 3 yet, I'm very curious myself.

@WoomyNNYes you can jump straight into ranked battles at your old levels rather than starting from zero.

Being able to avoid the what the current levels are updates is the BEST improvement over the previous games! I got so bored of seeing them all the time in the past games.

@WoomyNNYes You'll get extra weapon purchase tickets too, so you don't have to use basic stuff after your first few battles if you don't want to.

@WoomyNNYes not really, unless you want to start from zero in the ranked battles. I’ve not played Splatoon 2 I’m awhile so I’m rusty and I’ve gone down to B level in ranked now.

...Ugh, yeah, I'm turning motion controls off...I never did like them unless it involved the Wii remote. I feel like I do better with it turned off here.

@Joeynator3000 Motion controls really annoyed me at first, but it just took getting used to keeping my controller more steady, resting my hands & controller on my thighs (I play docked). If you can give it a day or two, it's totally worth it. But, it's ultimately your call. You should obviously enjoy the game how you want.

@WoomyNNYes You still start at level 1, but you get some golden tickets and a higher Anarchy Rank to boot when you import it. I recommend importing just so that you start with people of your skill level right away.

Same, honestly. I used motion controls for the longest time in 2 until i found out you could turn them off. Suddenly… MONKEYMOO’S WIN RATE GOES UP 100%! Not really unfortunately.

@WoomyNNYes Yeah I just couldn't stay into it, motion controls in general just annoyed me. My hands can sometimes be shaky too, no idea how I managed it with the first game...maybe it's the shape/size of the controller...?

What weapons do you guys main right now? With my Gold Sheldon Licenses (Splatoon 2 data) i was able to get Tri-Stringer, aka my main during the demo and probably my main now-

Eh, anything with rapid-fire shooting I guess...I used to like the Gatling gun back in the first game, but for some reason I don't care for it much here.
