@SlamDunk22 Using kraken terrifies me because I work so hard to maintain optimal distance and then this special forces me to get up close, not only that but the special is so punishable. I need a long range aggressive special to keep pace with the rest of S3. Would blob with wall and zooka be too much to ask?
Taking advantage of photo mode for a frosty fest picture option for my locker photo. The trippy neon reflection in the glasses is pretty cool. However, it's kind of tough to capture the glasses when they're lit up. You'll need rhythm game skill.😆 Comparatively, I think the pics looked lame if the glasses aren't lit up.
Edit: To answer the question below, I'm team money. I guess my shirt gives that away, though. @CaleBoi25
Speaking of competitive though, last night the three of us on the team so far joined up with two mutual friends (different from Tuesday) for From The Ink Up!
It was a great time, although we did learn the hard way about how tilt can affect play.
We won a set though! Meaning that I not only won my first tournament set with pencil, but that we won our first tournament set as 3/4th of a team!
Also, after we took photos, this happened, credit Ari for the clip:
@AccessibleDaydream Guess what!? ...There is a group called NetWar in Omaha, and they are doing a LAN event soon, which will include Splatoon! I don't know for sure if I can make it, but it is only a few hour's drive for me!!
@CaleBoi25 will you be able to? That’s super exciting!
Some bad news from my end today:
After two months with the team that I’ve called my own, and after I asked the singular person who kept me from dropping Splatoon entirely to get the team back from being dissolved, I was kicked off the team today by that same captain.
As the story goes, the last two months have been incredibly stressful for me personally, what with going from house hunting to moving in less than those two months. As such, you might expect that I would be under immense stress. Unfortunately, there have been times in the last month where that stress has gotten the best of me, and I’ve become emotionally disregulated in those moments. Again, with the stress of external factors, it might be understandable why that’s happened more frequently in recent weeks. However, somewhere along the way, my captain started to see it as a sign of mental instability, rather than a temporary result of temporary extreme stress, and that’s ultimately why I was kicked.
I don’t agree with the decision, and neither do a majority of my friends who are also involved in competitive. Worse yet was the way that my captain went about kicking me off the team:
The captain quite literally pulled me out of practice in the middle of it tonight, told me that I was negatively impacting the team, that I need to get help before I ever do competitive again, and left the vc without a word more, just to kick me off the team.
Following these events, I've decided to take the next week-and-a-half off the game, and focus entirely on self-care when I'm not preparing for the move next Thursday. After that, I think I might just do pickups with my friends for a while, since I have a number of trusted contacts who I know will still enjoy my company.
@AccessibleDaydream Oh, no! So sorry to hear that, but I hope you can get well rested and back at it next month! Still not sure if I will make it to Netwar, but I really hope I can!!!
@SlamDunk22 If i read my splatnet app correctly, the first weapon I beat 30 floors with was marie's palette, the charger + proximity bombs+ ink strike. It's not a weapon I expected to win with. I guess that's part of the fun of Side Order. Weapons you don't like can surprise you when you start stacking certain abilities from color chips.
@SlamDunk22 TI beat it with Frye's Pallet (the Order Splatana) first. My final build was with Sprinklier and Crab (which I only later learned is actually almost the best possible kit in SO lol!!)
