I'm not sure how you can even defend the Ultra Signal on the new stage. Feels like guaranteed Tricolor win for Present or Future (considering they have 1.5x bonuses for being on attack).
@Grumblevolcano I’ve won 2 out of 5 Defending as Team Past (and 3 out of like 10 Attacking; currently sitting on 78k Clout after the first rotation) It’s not easy, you need to have eyes on every approach. And I think your choice of weapons and being able to control the area around the platform is most important. I even had to put away my beloved Sloshing Machines and pick up my trusty old vanilla Slosher I used to main in Splatoon 1 before the Machine. The firing rate is great, inking is great, inking walls is great, splat bomb spam is a good strat paired with Ink Recovery and Sub Saver gear, and Triple Inkstrike can take care of climbers if you toss them at the edges. It’s also great for Attacking.
@Croctopus Oh man, the presentation on the festival in general goes so hard! How can anyone not be impressed? I really feel bad for anyone who could not or chose not to pick up the game yet, waiting for later, or have hang-ups about online/NSO as they’re really missing out on something special that really can only be experienced right here and now.
Urgh, Tri-thingy battles are so annoying as so many people don't understand the assignment because it's so rarely played. If you're on the attacking team go for the defending team not the other attacking team, the goal is to beat the defending team so if they lose the other attacking team wins too.
I've been absolutely loving this new tri-colour stage, but that might just be because I'm on a 13 game win streak on it. But, oh my god, this is everything that a final fest should be. THE SQUID SISTERS PREFORMING WHILE YOU PLAY IS A DREAM COME TRUE!!!! I literally stopped and just watched them on my first tri-colour match! Despite team past seemingly having the fewest players, I've still gotten a fair share of tri-colour mirror matches, which is kind of annoying, but I imagine that it's got to be way worse for the other teams. Anyways, TEAM PAST FTW and I'm gonna see if I can continue that win streak!
I haven't played Splatoon for at least a year but I wanted to experience the Grand Festival so I played couple of matches a moment ago. I really liked the concert, more than the actual matches (I'm very out of practice).
I tend to get the new Splatoon at launch, play for ~100 hours and then barely ever touch the game again. I think I missed the final Splatfest for both 1 and 2 as I don't really care for Splatfests. Turf War is my least favorite mode. Finding a match tends to take longer during Splatfests too, probably due to the split player base, at least in my experience.
Ugh, so Grand Splatlands Bowl is a disaster. Once the 4 player team gains control of the rising platform, you're pretty much screwed. I'm also losing all hope that Team Future is gonna win. Don't you guys want to go forward instead of backwards?
@Grumblevolcano With as sweaty/brutal as some games have been, the mix of extremely strong teams and really really new players (w 150 hours or less), I bet people are disconnecting on purpose.
Edit: Side note: I got more wins playing with someone in a pool. I used the reddit pool: rsplatoon.
Loving the presentation of the Grand Festival. But yeah... as somebody on Future, I've had my fair share of rotten luck too. That 100x loss from earlier was especially heartbreaking. (I was against Present in that battle.) There were a TON of Booyah Bombs from the opposing team too, it was ridiculous. But I assure you... I am doing the best I can.
