Outside of sniping people once you have a good vantage point, I think you'll do better with the Tri-Stringer if you focus more on supporting your teammates in fights. The mini-explosives you get from the first level of charge can put a lot of pressure on enemies, and in conjuction with the set's Toxic Mist you can heavily restrict their movement. And don't forget that jumping changes your shot angle from a lateral to a vertical spread, which can be important for mini-explosive placement.
The same is true to a lesser extent of the Splatana. It's not as strong as a roller nor as fast as a brush, but it has enough range to lessen the chances of being dead weight in any engagement. But even on it's own, the torpedo sub is great at putting your opponents in tough spot, as a hit from that and a charged splatana shot is enough to splat.
I kind of liked this demo. Honestly, I think I prefer two to this, but it's still good.
The maps are really small though, at least from what I played, compared to two's maps.
The specials are kind of underwhelming though, at least for me. Like the Spider-Man one is wasted in less than like 5 seconds and you can't really do much with it, on top of it being put on some (imo) bad weapons.
Also, it was hard to play with my friend. I guess you have to make a room first, but in 2 you would just join them.
I think I might pick it up in a sale, but not in launch.

Ultimately tricolor is still just who controls the most ground, but by getting the ultra thing in the middle, it'll act as a sprinkler for awhile, so it obviously helps a lot.
Edit: And I think the ultra will reset once during the match after it's captured. May be wrong on that. So, someone captures it, it sprinkles for awhile, then resets for one more team to possibly capture before the end of the match.
The strategy for Tricolor if you're on one of the 2 teams of 2 is to only help the other team of 2 to eliminate the team of 4. When the other team of 2 is going for the Ultra Signal you take them out to steal it for yourself. Rock winning Tricolor matches benefitted Rock more than Paper as shown by the overall results.
@Dev9417 Give us a bit of credit, we were fighting for our bloody lives out there!
(found this on Twitter and it sums up our experience pretty well)
In all honesty though, for how stacked the odds were against us in Tricolour, I absolutely loved it. It made every win feel like an absolute triumph and constantly gatekeeping the other teams with subs, specials and whatnot was a ton of fun. Now when they got both Ultra Signals, that's a different story.

Yeah, I don't know if Nintendo is planning on using this trial to fix things, but the Tri-Color seems patently unfair for whoever is winning after the first half. But I'm not very good at these types of games, so maybe other people will find a strategy to do better as the team of four.
@SnackPop I went ahead and booted up the demo to see which side won, and since I was on Rock, that seriously made my day. Heck yeah. Good games everyone!

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
I think that maybe the sprinkler of doom from the Ultra Signals needs to be nerfed because as a Scissors player, it often felt impossible to win if more than 1 was won over, and pretty much always impossible if both were won by the same team.
Hey everyone! I wasn’t able to participate in the Splatfest this time, but I wasn’t too surprised to see the winner. Big Man will get them next time. How was the experience playing?

@StarPoint I liked it. You couldn't earn anything to carry over to the full game. So, you didn't miss anything in that respect. If anything, skipping the demo will make the full game more impactful for you when it releases.
All the new levels, new music, some new weapons, sub weapons, special weapons, and there's new sound effects for some things. The Lobby is the training room, and it's grand. I'm so looking forward to the full game.
There were plenty of carry over weapons, but they had new kits (sub and specials).
@Rachel_NES Splatfests are predetermined by Nintendo the players actually have no control in the outcome of the final results even if nobody played the splatfest at all Team Rock would of won because they set it that way in the game's code
@xRidley15x I'm afraid this is false, you can go into Splatoon 2's code and see different responses for different teams winning lol
@StarPoint Same here, I was with scissor's spiritually haha, I was a little bummed out I wasn't able to see what's new but I guess like @WoomyNNYes said, it'll just make the full release better.
Games I'm playing right now:
OoT N64
DK64 N64
Lego LotR Wii
Spirit Tracks DS
TotK Switch
