@Grumblevolcano That helps. Just making sure I wasn't missing anything.
Ugg. This last pallet is brutal, and pretty depressing. I died on Floor 20, then 17, then 8. I'm feeling pretty bitter about the rules for the last pallet. I have a weak-@ss weapon, terrible swim speed for fleeing enemies I can barely kill, no armor-break jump, no damage reduction.
@WoomyNNYesI took a couple of extra lives and that's all, went in with 24 slots. Tried to be extra picky with which chips I took so skipped quite a few floors early on when it was cheap. Mostly focused on buffing my main weapon as much as possible (piercing, range, firing speed, damage/range damage, ink saver main, etc.). Needed all my lives and had some pretty close calls towards the end but just managed to clutch it out first go.
@Budda Didn't you say we unlock something for collecting all color chips. Maybe I misunderstood what, or how, it unlocks something. I finally collected each of the color chips, but nothing happened. So, maybe we need to collect three of each color? Am I warm?
@WoomyNNYes
You get badges for collecting All data of every color chip in each group. If you press A on a chip in the menu, you can see in the top right corner what to do.
(The menu outside of the tower, pressing X and see your collected chips)
Hot dog! I finally beat the tower with the last pallete. Thank you for the tips. It took me about 8 tries. After repeatedly failing to complete the tower with almost no hacks and getting 12-24 chips. I switched my strategy and finally beat it - kept my hacks while only receiving 6 color chips and beat it second try.
@WoomyNNYes You were right, Fish Stix are hard to stay on top of, but perhaps for me it was jus the power of suggestion?
Yesterday, I didn't seem to have so much of a problem staying on fish sticks in the last rotation of the weekend. Yeah, I don't know if it's user error, weapon specific, or an imagined problem. 🤔
Background salmonids in Bonerattle Arena:
To me, the low framerate background salminds just looked like evidence that even Nintendo's own Splatoon devs expected to have an upgraded console with more power by now.
I don't think that's the case. I mean, they developed the game for the Switch, not the successor. I think the devs are just doing what they can to help keep the framerate from dropping since obviously a high steady framerate is very important in a game like Splatoon. Don't forget that the framerate in Splatoon 2 Salmon Run also drops sometimes.
Stuff about the last palette... I'm not quite done with Side Order just yet.
Just unlocked Eight's palette and my goodness, it is incredibly difficult. I did not expect the curve ball that they threw... it's made so that the more hacks you enable, the less color chips you're able to add to your palette. I tried to balance things out with just having a high amount of armor, and even tried going all-out by enabling every hack I got with my prlz... but no dice. Also, just for fun, I also tried using no hacks at all, but only made it to about floor 9. (Though in retrospect, I think I can do a bit better than that.) The furthest I made was floor 25, give or take. This might take an astronomical amount of tries on my end.

@card-crunch78 I wanna ask... did you start playing Side Order fairly recently, or only made a little bit of progress? It sounds like that to me. Just in case it's yes, I know it was made so that it could be replayed over and over. It's meant to be played that way. Remember, even if your playthrough doesn't end well, you're still making progress because the game gives you prlz that you could use toward hacks. Those will gradually make things easier overtime. Just keep trying, and you'll make it.

@card-crunch78 Well I finished my run by getting just enough hacks to help me finish the whole spire, so getting all of them isn't too necessary. Just whatever would be most useful to you, and keep doing your best since you're gonna be facing the final boss sooner or later anyway. If it helps, I've mainly used hacks that are part of the "player" section, stuff like max lives, damage reduction, and max armor. I've gotten some drone hacks as well. All that can help out quite a bit.

@card-crunch78 Yeah, the tower is hard without the marina hacks. I buffed the heck out of armor regeneration speed, damage reduction, and main weapon damage, and unlocked two extra lives. Chip bias can help, and so can reducing vending machine prices.
The weapons unlock from the lockers in a mostly random order. For me, I thought the easiest pallete to win with was the bucket(big man) - that was the second or third weapon I got from the lockers. The splattershot was decent. The brella's pallete turned out to be much stronger than I expected. It's sprinkler sub & ink storm special work well as damage multpliers.
Weapons I needed the most hacks for were the brush & luna blaster. I saved these for last, when I had the most hacks.
I don't know if there are some hacks you haven't tried yet. Some were surprisingly helpful, like the armor break jump. 2 or 3 buffs of that will save you from losing lives.
I didn't experiment with drone hacks & their respective chip buffs until later, and boy, that can get quite OP.
