Topic: Splatoon 3

I was able to load up the beta but disappointed you can't test the weapons in advance. Just have to wait until the 27th then...

@Grumblevolcano Sounds like the demo went live for you after midnight or around 1am. Thanks for the heads up.

Edit: Edit: per Jump below, in this case "Live" = accessing tutorial & Splatsville. It's not much. Correct.
(Turf War will only be available on Saturday.)

The way people kept talking about it being live I thought you would be able to play some matches, it's a bit disappointing it's only the avatar set up and tutorial.

@jump Ikr? I dont know if I just haven't found it yet but i can't even seem to be able to test any weapons, or go to shops because of my level.

I've just realized I'm busy on the 27th so I won't get a chance to play it, what's really annoying is I've realized that once before but forgot so I've had double the disappointment.

Ahh man, playing even that short little demo has made me so excited for this game! Seeing the new hub, new weapons, new maps, everything has gotten me really pumped.

Unfortunately, I am going to be gone the weekend of the Splatfest so I won’t be able to play it, but at least I was able to get my vote in.

PLEASE FREE THE SPLATOON TUTORIAL LEVELS FOR SPLATOON GAMES!

I like wandering through them more than once, Nintendo. Come on.
You only get to see them once when you first boot up the game, then they aren't accessible again, unless you delete your Splatoon save file or create a new switch user. It's a minor gripe, but it's always annoyed me that they did it with Splatoon 2. And, they've done it with the Splatoon 3 demo. Probably safe to say it will be the same deal with the full game, all over again.

Is there a way to practice in stages, and to change your in-game username? I can't seem to figure it out. I did go through the tutorial and picked my Splatfest team, which is Rock.

Finally got started with the Splatfest demo a few hours ago and I am in awe. The absolute scale of Splatsville is mind-boggling (THERE ARE STAIRS. THAT YOU CAN GO UP. WHAT) and seeing how Japanese everything is, from the architecture to the music to the idols especially, really makes me so damn happy. The lack of a training mode for the weapons bugs me immensely (especially when I thought I was going to be able to do it by just going into the lobby tower, only to be denied the second I thought I was in) but other than that, I cannot wait for the 27th to roll around and show everyone how much superior Team Scissors are to everyone!

Oh and one thing I was very worried about was what I should make my character this time round: do I keep them the same or do I change it up? Turns out it wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it'd be because the minute I saw the male Octoling design (with that FABULOUS hair), I was smitten.

Practice stages in the demo right now? no. Perhaps on splatfest day, the 27th. We'll see. I don't know the answer regarding in-game username. I can't find squat either in the demo. Looks like that's intentional.

That Treehouse Live presentation bumped up my expectations for Splatoon 3 single player, and for the game in general. It may not be revolutionary, but it looks great.

@WoomyNNYes Thanks for directing me over there, it was a pretty cool showing overall. I skipped the story mode stuff myself (want to go in as blind as possible) but the training area looks fantastic (the fact you can access the modes from there is an absolute game changer). This may also be the game where I finally learn Splash-o-Matic. Sploosh is one of my favourite weapons in the entire game yet I've always just shrugged over Splash even though I should love it, especially with that kind of fire rate as someone who co-mains the Aerospray. The kit on it this time round though feels too enticing to pass up (Burst Bombs AND Crab Tank? HELL YEAH) so who knows: I didn't actually see it in the demo but that might just be me not digging deep enough into it. A kit I'm VERY excited for as well is Luna with Zipcaster. Is it predictable? Yes. Does it sound incredibly fun sneaking up on someone out of the blue and one shotting them from point blank range? ABSOLUTELY

@Fizza Yeah, I almost skipped the single player part of Treehouse for the same reason, but I was quite impressed. I'm excited.

@SnackPop Yeah you're likely right on that. I'd imagine that the game would have you punch in your username right before you play your first match.

The new HUB is BIG. But I guess it has to be since it's also a Salmon Run stage or something, right?
