@WoomyNNYes
It's weird that it was really that bad for you on this rotation. I mean,... this was probably the easiest rotation ever.
I notice it right away, if I'm playing with newbies. And I had a couple of them. But I always managed to win anyway. Though. As always on a weapon rotation like this, people that are not good enough for that difficult, get on to a very high VP rank. And they get often overwhelmed by the difficulty very quickly.
I got up to VP700 with maybe 3-4 losses. The rest to 999 felt to me like I am playing VP300 on a normal rotation. Even Max Hazard. Win/Loss ratio at that point was "normal".
Long story short. I got to VP999 got the gold badge, and I even randomly got the silver badge for Horrorboros. 😁
Collected around 60 silver scales and 11 gold scales.
That said.. I really need a little break from SR now. I wait for the Season Update and the old new SR map.

@BingleyBongley I see a few new pieces of gear peppered in there, but they aren't that cool. You're right though, its mostly not new gear. I wasn't expecting that. New gear I saw: swim cap w goggles, baseball cap with light, a new color variation or two... This is the weakest catalog.

Wow that's....yeah no that's extremely disappointing. It was bad enough when Sizzle Season's only brand new gear was through the catalogue, now you're telling me we're getting even less on top of the latter half being repeats of ones already in the game? I'm usually extremely positive on 3 (more than most online it seems) but this is one thing where I can't come up with a good reason as to why this is the way that it is. They say it's for those who missed out on it originally but if that's the case, A: why wouldn't you just make them purchasable in the shops and B: WHY PUT THEM AT THE END OF THE CATALOGUE!?

Dooming and glooming aside, the brand new gear (as little of it as it seems) still looks really nice, helped out even further by the addition of cap/t-shirt adjustment coming as well, and Heavy Edit Splatling (also shown off in full today) looks pretty interesting, being essentially a Hydra Lite: slower than average charge time but a ridiculous fire rate/firing duration. I've been dipping my toes into Splatlings as a whole in 3 (love Mini and have started to really enjoy Heavy/Heavy Deco as of late) so I'll definitely be tinkering with Heavy Edit a ton come release!

The only thing left that I want from this summer's catalog is the nineties jacket, level 90, but I'm only at catalog level 67. Not sure I'm going to make it to 90 before the new season starts. What date does new season start?

I'm guessing when the new game/dlc/Side Order releases that will bring in new waves of new content for catalogs for the next 12 months.

@Fizza I think it could be something to do with the Switch's successor. Nintendo's in an awkward position where the past years have been so strong for Switch that it's exhausted a lot of options for launch window titles for the successor if it's appearing anytime soon. Perhaps it ends up being that Animal Crossing is a launch title which takes resources away from Splatoon 3?

@WoomyNNYes The new season begins September 1st.

Talking about the catalogues. I couldn't care less about gear or decorations. All I care about are the emotes and banners.
And the updates in general are great. Just remember content updates in past Splatoon titles. There was no indication when we'd get new content, maps and weapons/weapon kits. Only from Directs or random twitter drops. A set schedule for new content is already huge for this franchise.

While I'm underwhelmed by drizzle season catalog & gear (lack of new gear), maybe we have to accept we're at the end of Splatoon 3's first year. Maybe this is the new normal, and more representative of the rate of new gear coming out. Nintendo still has new stuff coming, though. We still have a direct coming between now and the end of september, still have Side Order (new single player campaign) coming (which will bring new gear). The two new stages look decent. I'm looking forward to new weapons & kits. There's still new monthly gear in salmon run. There's still a Splatfest coming, and then a Big Run. We'll probably get a new samlon run map before the end of the year. And if they follow a schedule similar to Splatoon 2, we've got a new sub weapon & special weapon to expect in this next year.

Welcome @CaleBoi25.

EDIT: Oh yeah, as @Budda said, we still get new emotes in this catalog. Anything is better than the Stuntin' emote, THE lamest emote.🤣 It's so corny. (Just my opinion. No offense if anyone likes it. You're allowed to like things, even if I don't.) I don't think I've ever seen anyone use Stuntin' in-game. If I do see it, I expect it's used ironically. (Hmmm, maybe now I'm going to have to start using it, because I think it's so awful.😁)

What's everyone's least favorite emote?🤔

Undulator is still one of my favorites, and it's what I've been using since it came out & I got it.

@CaleBoi25 Oh, that's funny. Robo Steppin' is my second favorite.😁 But I have noticed that I almost never see anyone else using it. So, what's your emote now? Or your personal top two? (Anyone else can answer, too)

@WoomyNNYes Double Cross Dab for life! (Still can't believe they actually added it to the game)

I'm honestly just disappointed that only 8 new kits are being added, and that most of them seem worse than the vanilla kits.

I like the Windmill Whip the best, that's the emote that I have equipped currently. Love the ending pose for it, too.

I do not like the Humpback Pumptrack stage. But it is kinda nice having two main abilities of Sub Power Up so you can throw a suction bomb far enough to reach the popular sniper camping spot from a safer distance.

(Kind of ironic, the guy that likes riding pumptracks does not like this stage?😆 I usually will not play turf war if Humpback Pumptrack is one of the active stages.)
