May as well do the reasons why I picked the teams I picked in this game as well. I didn't participate in the tropical island and Pokemon Splatfests because I didn't have the game until Christmas 2022. But I'll say what I would have picked in those two.
1) Rock - not gonna lie, but I kinda had Mega Man on my mind with this Splatfest. In case you're not aware, the Mega Man games are about defeating robot masters and acquiring their weapons, and every robot master is weak to a particular weapon. Hence the "rock, paper, scissors" concept. Rock is also Mega Man's "real self," so to speak, and he's known as Rockman in Japan. Team Rock also happens to be blue, just like Mega Man himself, so that's why I picked that team.
2) N/A, but I probably would have picked Gear. Seems to be the best choice for going to a deserted island.
3) N/A, I would've picked Fire. Charmander was my starter in Pokemon Red, and red's my favorite color. Also, not related to Pokemon, but Fire Mario is one of my favorite power-ups in the Super Mario series.
4) Sweet - always liked sweet treats more than spicy or sour foods. And I love a good cake!
5) Dark Chocolate - kind of a hard choice between that and White Chocolate, but ended up going with Dark. I did hear it's a little healthier than the other two, as well.
6) Aliens - just because aliens are cool. lol
7) Courage - it fits me the best, and I'm way more of a hero guy than a villain guy. Plus it represents Link. How could I not pick that team?
8) Strawberry - I love strawberries and wanted to try out strawberry ice cream, and I enjoyed it. Otherwise, I would've went with Vanilla.
9) Love - just like with Courage, it fits me the best. I love my family and friends, and I've also been doing self-love, as well.

I still think the trailer will be this week, considering they released around this time for previous seasons.
Nov. 14 (chill season trailer), Feb. 16 (fresh season twitter reveal) and May 16 (sizzle season trailer) were the dates for the other season reveals, so it'd be weird for them to push this one back. I think the 20th is the absolute latest we'll get a trailer (if there is one).
My personal guess is that the trailer will release tomorrow as it's exactly 2 weeks from the start of the next season (with the previous reveals happening around that time in their respective months as well) though I've heard there's also a festival currently happening in Japan (pretty sure it's the Obon Festival?) so that could potentially delay things as well.
I usually don't hope for too much in these updates (better to go in with low expectations and end up surprised am I right?) but given how this is the 1st Anniversary of Splatoon 3, I do have some hope that they might go big for it and do a ton of cool stuff. I'm personally hoping for new hairstyles for both Ink/Octolings, a new Ranked Mode a la Clam Blitz, Custom Blaster's return (personally hoping for something like Burst Bomb + Tacticooler myself) and, of course, a release date for Side Order (perhaps alongside the new season? :3). I'm getting myself pretty excited just thinking about it so I'll stop there but man I just cannot wait to see what (if anything) transpires for September 1st

Have they usually announced the returning stage in these trailers? Was looking forward to seeing what they were bringing back, but maybe I’m misremembering and they usually just show it on Twitter.

Nice trailer. I like both new stages. This game keeps getting better and better. Time to finish the catalogue before the season ends. Less than 14 levels left I think.
Next, some shocking news. It's been a full YEAR since we started researching the Splatoon 3 game! And now we've discovered that the next Splatfest (from 9/8 to 9/10) celebrates the same anniversary with a divisive theme: Who would be the best leader? Shiver, Frye, or Big Man?
I think Final Fest will be Squid Sisters vs. Off the Hook vs. Deep Cut. Squid Sisters are in Inkopolis if you bought the DLC, Deep Cut are in the Splatlands with the base game and I'd guess Off the Hook will return to Inkopolis Square once you've completed Side Order.
I'm hoping to dress up my Inkling with Mario's outfit when the next catalog comes. Though, that might be a pipe dream on my part... pun entirely intended, lol. We already had the Nintendo consoles/handhelds for this current catalog, so why not have outfits of characters from other Nintendo games?
As for the next Splatfest, I'm probably gonna go for Shiver. She's won more Splatfests than Frye and Big Man, after all... even though we've had our differences, lol. Plus I like her character design.

So there will be a new Grizzco weapon at the upcoming Big Run. Hmm... What weapon type hasn't got a Grizzco variant yet?
Shooter, Splatling and Brushes?
Frye for me. I feel like both big man and shiver are really overrated, and if you manage to look past Frye's forehead, she's got a lot of charm. Eels are way better than sharks. Pretty sure in the japanese version of the game she uses "washi" instead of "watashi" because she learned the language for her grandpa. She brings indian motifs to deep cuts music.
She is overall the best idol in splatoon history to me.
