@WoomyNNYes As much as I want a new trailer, I strongly doubt we'll get one unless if side order's releasing much sooner than expected. I'm pretty sure that octo expansion only got a trailer (not counting the reveal trailer) 2 days before its release.
Finishing up my Splatfest run at 100K Clout in Open, 16K Clout in Pro and 35K Clout in Tricolour, along with a Fame Ruler title. Definitely wasn't able to play as much as I would've liked (due to....you know....the whole being on holiday thing and all XD) but I'm still pretty pleased with how things turned out: I managed to grab 3 10x's in Open, go on a 6 game long win-streak in Pro and rediscovered my love for Dualie Squelchers (both base and Custom) so I'm overally very happy with my performance this time round overall!
also I finally got to try out Eeltail Tricolour and good lord this one was not balanced in the slightest (not even unbalanced in a fun way like Triforce Scorch Gorge, just unbalanced in a dear god how do I even get in kind of way, you know?)

@WoomyNNYes @BingleyBongley Though we did find out a lot more about Octo Expansion in the initial trailer, there was even gameplay. If they were to release Side Order along with the next multiplayer season, having a reveal in the next few days followed by showcasing further in depth at Gamescom seems realistic.
I collected some stats over the course of the Fest after I started playing on Friday and realized I’d be getting a LOT of mirror matches. Since it wouldn’t be any good to keep them to myself, here they are for anyone to see! Based on the (very surprising) results I assume Money had a similar enough situation, but again, this is from a team Love perspective.
For context, I played 76 games (and might’ve missed a couple in the tracking), and only did solo queue.
29 matches were mirror matches, 29 were vs Money, and 8 were vs Fame.
I had 5 10x battles all against Money and won 3, no 100x or 333x.
I attempted 5 Tricolor battles and only one was a real match, the others were all mirrors.
All in all I ended with a bit over 100k clout and Ruler +1 (halfway to +2) which is the best I’ve done since the early Fests like the Pokémon Fest and the Gear-fest. The mirrors were annoying but it was still a very enjoyable time as Splatfest usually is.
Ugh, that is so disappointing... I was really hoping that Love would win this one. Especially since we were in the lead in the halftime. Good games, everyone.

@Croctopus No wonder there were lots of mirror matches in Tricolor, very few people picked Fame meaning there weren't enough Fame players. I hope the next Splatfest is more balanced in popularity between all 3 options, I'd say the Zelda Splatfest was the most fun of the bunch so far.
Whilst I don’t buy people wouldn’t really want to be some famous YouTuber which real people have never heard of it just sounds too shallow. Change it to something like legacy, talent or philanthropy they would have gotten more players.
This was definitely the least fun Splatfest for a while, as far as Tricolour goes at least. I didn't love the map and there were just way too many mirror matches. They definitely need to be picking the themes more carefully if they want Tricolour to work as it was pretty obvious nobody was going to be picking Fame.
Oh well. At least the clear best choice won this time around.
Very surprised to see Money take home the whole thing; got nothing against the team myself, it just seemed like Love was almost guaranteed to win based off of the amount of mirror matches they kept on getting (which, especially when they weren't even the most popular team, is extremely bizarre). I was kept from experiencing a lot of the frustrations people have had with this fest by going with Fame for the most part though stuff like Tricolour was a major letdown given how long the data for Tricolour Eeltail has been in the game.
Overall, it was a fine Splatfest for me though I really hope they can find a way to even out a lot of these choices because, while they're definitely creative, you can't really apply them to a competitive environment if you want things to be equal. Oh well, time to wait for a potential Drizzle Season 2023 trailer to drop within the next few days/hours!

@BobTheBunkerGuy I usually find them to be pretty fun and a nice change up from regular turf war but it requires a good choice of map (most have been pretty good though) and relatively balanced teams for matchmaking.
@BobTheBunkerGuy It's still a game of turf war. The Ultra Signals help the attacking teams by automatically inking an area of the map for them after they're captured which definitely helps a lot but isn't the be all and end all of. The attacking teams can still win without them and the defending team can still win after both have been captured.
@BobTheBunkerGuy The game really should have done a better job of explaining the mode before just dumping you in it can be pretty confusing at first. Especially for the attacking teams as it's pretty unclear whether you should be working together or against each other. If either attacking team ends with the highest % of turf then both attacking teams win, but I think the team in first gets more points or something. I usually try to just work together with the other attacking team and help them win if they're going for the signals but it often ends in getting stabbed in the back if they're not on the same page.
@Snatcher You're definitely not the only one, I got an absurd amount of mirror matches on Love as well. I agree, it sucks that we didn't even get the popular vote.

Almost one year later, and I finally tried Tricolor battle.😁 Took a while & a youtube video to help me grasp what's going on. I did have fun with it. Lost one, won 1, then lost two.
I think Deep Cut amiibo will probably happen close to Side Order. I looked back at Splatoon 2 and it was only a month apart:
Octo Expansion - June 13th 2018
Off the Hook amiibo - July 13th 2018
The amiibo preorder also went live 5 days after the big initial look at Octo Expansion (we knew a lot more about Octo Expansion from the initial trailer than we currently do about Side Order).
1 year in and we still don't have any new stringers. Kind of odd because stringers were all over the promotional stuff. I honestly just hope they buff brellas.
Yeah, I stopped caring about whether or not my team won, as getting the "Ruler" title is one of the achievements. And here's my current banner:
Would you guys mind if I explained WHY I joined each team in the Splatfests beginning with the Splatoon 3 demo last August? They have nothing to do with ink color, believing they're popular or the host behind the team.
@Croctopus I'd love to learn more about Side Order pretty soon. Perhaps we'll learn more about it on the next Nintendo Direct or something, as well as its release date. I'm still holding off on getting the DLC... all it is right now is another hub area.
@HenryKibble We don't mind, no need to ask us for permission. Especially since you're posting on this Splatoon 3 thread.

Aug. 2022: Team Paper (I like to draw and I used to enjoy the Paper Mario series)
Sep. 2022: Team Grub (If I were on a tropical island, I couldn't handle eating the fruits or veggies mainly because of my autism and my sensitivity to certain food textures, though admittedly I could get a blender from Team Gear and make smoothies to cut out the weird textures)
Nov. 2022: Team Grass (Bulbasaur was my starter in Blue and I planned to start with Sprigatito in Pokémon Violet)
Jan. 2023: Team Sweet (I can't handle spicy or sour foods very well)
Feb. 2023: Team Dark Chocolate (I've heard that dark chocolate's supposed to be healthier than milk or white chocolate, and I've been eating more of it lately)
Mar. 2023: Team Nessie (Honestly, I had difficulty picking this one. Mom kinda nudged me)
May 2023: Team Power (I'm already smart with my hyperfixations and courageous enough to eat at restaurants without freaking out)
Jul. 2023: Team Mint Chip (Ordinarily I would've gone with Vanilla, but the Splatfest made me pick an ice cream flavor IRL to eat more of)
Aug. 2023: Team Love (My friends and family still love me)
