@jump If that match is in your history and your data is populated, then I think you got the credit for it (which can also be seen from the NSO splatnet app). I haven't been having communication errors during the victory dance segment.

@WoomyNNYes Cheers! Yeah the match had me winning but I never take notice of what my gear, level and money are so I'm never sure if I got them afterwards.

I really need to get the Splat app but it seems like effort.

@jump The app is easy to use, easy to open, and easy to set up. You download the NSO app from the app store. Then do a one-time log into the app with your nintendo account, and that's all there is to setting it up. After that, it only takes two taps to open Splatnet 3. Tap once to open NSO, tap again on Splatnet 3 tile. There is a BATTLES tab in splatnet that will show your battle history. You can see the same battle history in the in-game lobby, but the app will also let you see what gear & abilities the other players are running (if you're curious about that sort of thing.)

I looked at the poll in the app for Splatfest votes.
It's 5 Dark, 8 Milk and 13 White.
It's of course only people on my friend list. But if that's anything to go by, Dark is the least favourite one as I predicted. - Though I haven't thought White would be more popular than Milk.

Yeah, that's another good use for the splatnet app, seeing what teams your splatoon/switch friends have picked. I use the app from time to time. I have it on my tablet.

I haven't noticed people hating on splatnet 3 this time, even though, it's basically identicle to splatoon 2's app, if not actually identical with info features.

So… how much y’all want to bet that we’re getting some DLC news in the direct? Any theories on what this DLC contains?

@ChaoticKirby Good point. So focused on new zelda, I forgot Splatoon could have a piece of the direct. Although, nintendo could just dump a splatoon trailer at the end of the month, too.

New Splatoon content is nintendo's current quarterly hype machine - filling the spot where Nintendo teased new characters/content for Smash Bros. I think, this far into splatoon 2, we got a brand new weapon, sub weapon, or special. Otherwise, I hope there's something cool, content or mode-wise. As BenAV mentioned, we could use some new Salmon Run slopsuit rewards. There are a bunch of empty spaces for more slopsuit options. As far as new kits go, I really miss having a curling bomb with a gun. Splatoon 2 had a curling bomb with the .52 Gal gun. (something with more range than the splooshomatic). I like zooming around with curling bombs.

Octo Expansion trailer was a big deal, but that was a march direct. So, I don't expect an Splatoon 3 expansion reveal yet. Actually... So, Splatoon 2 and Octo Expansion were both a July release.... I could see Nintendo pushing Splatoon 3's expansion to a September release to help pad out the fall.

End of the month would be very late. The last season's trailer got released around 2 weeks prior to its release. It's a 100% it's in the Direct. More eyes to advertise the game as well.

Funny story, I was recording footage for a potential joke video I was gonna make about the way too frequent connection issues, and then in 40 minutes I got zero connection issues.

I hope that means they're not just gonna be back with a vengeance the next time I play it, because I'm gonna be so mad if I get a ton next time and don't even have the footage of it.

I absolutely expect the large-scale paid DLC to be in this Direct! Octo Expansion's reveal in a March Direct was just a different time before Nintendo settled on a routine February. But what will this DLC even be ABOUT? I'm going into speculation!

We only know that it features the return of Off the Hook. It'll certainly be a new story mode, but where will it take place? I always thought it would be cool to actually explore the undersea world of the Salmonids, similar to exploring the Octarian homelands of Octo Valley and Octo Canyon. The maps we go to in Salmon Run are just places they surface to fight off invaders.

Some people think there could be a new playable character but I highly doubt that. What would they even be? Salmonlings? Mantalings? Shouldn't be they cephalopods like squids and octopuses? Don't bet on this happening...

I really hope the DLC wave 1 isn't just a hub area otherwise what's the point?

It appears wave 1 is a hub world option, like changing your game's home screen. I'm into it. You can even do spaltfests there, where marie and callie perform, instead of deep cut. It's fine. Octo expansion single player came out one year after release, and so far, it looks like that's what they'll do again. The the new single player is wave two. Besides, there's new content coming with the next season, starting March 1.

@jump I think it's just filler to get people to buy it early, like we often see in their expansion passes. Wave 2 is the real content.

The question is.. Do we have to use the train every time to get to Inkopolis? Or once there, it will load into it automatically? And what's with the Splatcast? We saw Callie and Marie in their studio. Do we get them instead for the beginning Splatcast? Well... probably not?
And what's with the lobby? Do we get ported back to the one in Splatsville? Same question for Salmon Run lobby... So many questions! 😂😅
Oh and Team Order got to be the DLC. Good they didn't forget about it.

Inkopolis Plaza will sure be nostalgic even if it's just another hub. It would've been nice had the Booyah Base shops actually sold more gear. Fred Crumbs makes me hungry just looking at him. Who knew Sheldon had children? I'm glad to see that Spyke is back as well as Annie. Spyke has clearly gotten older but he's not the elderly urchin I thought he might've been considering Murch's growth spurt. Now @Budda got me wondering how the plaza will even function in general. Splatoon 1 was obviously before Salmon Run so there's no Grizzco building. Do the Squid Sisters go over the news as well? Can we just start the game there instead of having to travel from Splatsville?

As a former member of Team Order, I'm happy to see that Side Order is clearly inspired by it. Personally, I felt that Return of the Mammalians already had an orderly theme to it with Alterna. Now I have a bad feeling that Off the Hook are in trouble. I thought partnering with Damp Socks gave them more success? Will Marina turn bad like Callie did?! Now I'm thinking that a certain murderous telephone might be back...

Still no Deep Cut amiibo pack yet, too...

In the Side Order DLC... Maybe the Octoling standing there is actually Marina?!!? A prequel how Pearl and Marina meet?!?

Regarding the expansion pass "reward bonus" mentioned on eshop:

The in-game reward bonus given for purchasing the expansion pass is nothing special - 125,000 of in-game currency (I think that's what it was?) and a drink ticket for every ability. I'm already swimming in drink tickets from salmon run/shellout machine/sheldon-drone-finds. There should have been exclusive gear, or a very cool banner, or something substantial, espeically since the expansion is $25 USD, the first time a Nintendo game expansion is more than $19.99. (correct me if I'm wrong. That's true for the ninendo games that I have bought, I think.)

@WoomyNNYes I can't speak for America but in the UK it's £23 which is about the same as Mario Kart, less than Smash and Fire Emblem which was about £27 but more than Zelda BOTW which was £18 with the caveat I might have forgotten/mixed up the prices.

I'm very not impressed with wave 1 myself but I've got high hopes for Side Order. At the very least it means I don't have to buy it until the single player mode comes out.

@jump The addition of Splatoon 1 Inkopolis makes more sense to me if they are planning to bring Splatoon 1's single player later (which I've always wanted to play). EDIT: I'll definitely use Splatoon 1 Inkopolis hub world if it can be set as my default hub. I didnt' have a Wii U. So, it's new-ish to me.

EDIT:EDIT: Could Big Run take place on a Splatoon 1 map? (thinking out loud). There's got to be something else they have planned for Splatoon 1 hub world, I would think.
