Pictures of the Splatling and Slosher have been shown off on the Japanese twitter.

I like the Splatling, but that bucket? Still don't understand that item, not a big fan of the concept.

In Splatoon i was always using Tentatek Splattershot, this time i wanna try something different and unconventional: dualies or bamboozler!

@Octane Same. I think it's more the fact you have to keep pressing the button like an idiot; and the Game Pad buttons/triggers aren't exactly stellar.

@Octane what's not to like about a bucket?
Not one of my main weapons, but I do enjoy using it. And some people can be pretty deadly with them like @Blue_Blur

@Emperor-Palpsy True, I don't like using them either. But the concept, just a bucket? Doesn't seem much of a weapon at all.

@yokokazuo See above. I liked the rollers, even though they're not ''traditional'' weapons, but the bucket is just weird, and doesn't fit in with the rest aesthetically. Just not a fan of them!

Mashing is unnecessary, even detrimental at worse for these kinds of weapons: sloshers, nozzlenoses and even inkbrushes. They have a "rhythm" to their shots.

@Octane Pretty sure kids have water fights with buckets a lot when water guns aren't available. And what kind of kid hasn't enjoyed dumping a bucket of water on something/someone at least once?

On another note, none of the new specials seem to grant invincibility of any kind (except possibly the "Mako Punch"), in fact most of them seem to leave you quite vulnerable. Maybe this is to discourage leeroy jenkins tendencies, or generally trying to be a lone wolf against impossible odds.

@Octane Ah, I don't have a problem with it myself. I mean, you can use a paintbrush or a fire hydrant or any other non-traditional weapon in Splatoon and many are related to water or tools for painting.
Plus the Tri-slosher (筆洗) is based on a bucket used for cleaning paint brushes.

@yokokazuo: Yeah, fear my Slosher!

The Slosher has been my main weapon since the day it came out, so I'm super excited to see it again! Plus, I like orange better than the pink! I hope it still has burst bombs, and hopefully it'll come with a good special... never really liked the Inkstrike, so at least it can't be that!

I love how the Slosher with burst bombs can do well in most situations. Burst bombs are good for quick kills, as well as making a quick get-away path. My main problem while using it is advancing or invading the other team's base, since it's hard to get in close when against long-ranged weapons, but that's what great snipers, like Kazuo, are for.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Sloshers, but man they can be deadly (in other words, annoying to deal with).
@Blue_Blur @Nimkip don't your fingers ever get tired of tapping the shoot button? That's why I I'd never get used to that one Splattershot weapon that requires you to shoot again after firing like 3 squirts of ink...

God first.

@Vee_Flames I remember my hand got pretty tired when the ink brush came out haha.
But maybe I got used to it or I'm doing something different, but it doesn't really happen anymore. I do usually use the octobrush over the ink now though. Perhaps it is because that requires less presses than an ink brush.

@Vee_Flames: At first my hand did get pretty tired, but I guess I got used to it. XD I still can't use any of the brushes or that Splattershot weapon though.

I wonder if the slosher and/or splatling will also receive tweaked mechanics or controls like rollers or chargers (like say, the splatling also gains the ability to hold a charge while swimming).

@yokokazuo More likely because the octobrush is just plain more useful overall. Inkbrush is fun and can play a mean inking game in turf war, but in other modes it's overspecialization to ground mobility hurts when a push is necessary. Octobrush and even the sploosh-o-matic are much more consistent in battle (former because of range, latter for power). But then I'm talking as a fresh A- player to an S+ so what do I know .

You don't need to push the button that fast with inkbrush, at least when inking, as that gets a more efficient spread.

@Vee_Flames The Nozzlenoses. The H versions are slow enough to train trigger discipline while also being potentially able to splat with a single press if your aim is good.

My favourite weapons are sploosh-o-matic for stealthy support (I love hiding on walls to splat inklings as they pass by, and it's also great at rainmaker shield breaking) and hydra splatling for defensive play (suppressing fire is so much more effective in a game with technically infinite ammo).

@meleebrawler Oh I didn't really word that right haha, but those are the main reasons I use the octobrush over the ink.
What is meant to say was that I assumed it didn't really get tiring using the octobrush since it isn't needed to press ZR as often.

FGPackers

As NL reported in the latest news voice chat through smartphone app in Splatoon 2 will be available to use even while not in a match, but when you enter you can talk only to teammates that are in the friends list, not with strangers. Quite frankly i was expecting just this, nothing different in any kind of way, so i'm good with it

@Octane I was hoping for a bigger deeper story for Splatoon, but it sounds like it will be similiar to the first game in terms of size of the first game. They really need to add a lot more content right out the gate, and I don't just mean number of maps either.

If it has the same DLC plan as the first game, not really.

I really hope the music in Splatoon 2 will be as good as the music in Splatoon (especially in the campaign).
