Topic: Splatoon 2

Well guess I missed the Splatfest, I thought "the first weekend of August" would mean that it would go for the whole weekend, as in from the start of Saturday till the end of Sunday.

Why is it taking so long for Judd to calculate the results? This election is rigged!

That's because of regional matchmaking. EU is apparently the smallest (and weakest) Splatoon community, so we're especially affected by this (this was also the case for most Splatfests in the original game).

Well so far the leak is pretty uninteresting. The only really interesting thing are the weapons which we already knew about for quite some time.

@Nicolai I didn't read it because I want to be surprised.

@shani Regional matchmaking is great for latency. Not great when you live in Nintendos weakest market by a very large margin.

@BLP_Software I didn't think it was much of a spoiler, but I'll put spoiler tags.

@-Green- If its from a leak or not officially revealed then most people don't want to see it.

@BLP_Software Eh, I thought it was a commonly known one from the last Splatoon, but I'll respect that.

@-Green- What, Octoling Boys? Never in the first game.

@BLP_Software I mean the octolings in multi in general.

@BLP_Software I never had a problem with latency in the first game so I'd prefer to have global matchmaking.
Or at least some kind of hybrid matchmaking: Search for regional players, but when you don't find any, search globally.

That said, the European Splatoon community also seems to be a bit weaker (on average) to me than the US and JP community. So I'd really prefer to play against the best players in the world.

JUDD, where are the results? What is this big cat doing, did he fall asleep while counting the results? I want my sea snails already! ;(

@-Green- That was still a leak that never came to be so some don't know.

@shani Not just lower skilled but there is significantly less of us.

Had a great win streak in Splat Zones and managed to rank up to S+!

I've been having pretty good luck in Tower as well, at A+. I definitely need to work on Rainmaker the most, which makes sense as it's by far my worst mode. I've read through all the tips for Rainmaker on the last few pages, so I'll be sure to give them a try; they all sound like great strategies!

@BLP_Software Yeah, you're right. I was just a tad careless.

@BLP_Software Yeah exactly! I mean, it's not like Europe's population is too small, so it has to be about popularity. But why would Splatoon be less popular here? I don't get it.

And Mayo has won in all three regions ... At least I've already found the hoodie and shoes I need and have three slots at each of them now. Shifty Station with its moving platforms was cool, too.

@shani Nintendo isn't popular. Remember, Fortress Sony and they want NOTHING even getting a part of that market. They said so themselves.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, that was saddening to see that Splatfest result just now for Europe. Congrats Mayo squids. That was close, 51%-49% of wins in favor of Mayo for both Solo and Team.

@BLP_Software I guess you're right about that... :/

On a positive note though, finally got those highly anticipated sea snails! Already spent 6 of my 24 snails. Now I have to be careful and choose wisely until the next Splatfest is on the horizon.
