Is anyone playing SMTV: Vengeance? I just picked it up. I beat the base game when it release a couple of years ago, but I decided to buy this version and go with the new story route. So far, it’s been awesome!

What does everyone else think of the game so far?

@Kraven Haven't picked it up, have been replaying the original for the past week or so instead.

How much of an improvement is it? I'm planning on making 3 overpowered demons to transfer over (probably route-exclusive fusions), but is it necessary? Not sure if I want to start Vengeance with tons of extra demons and items.

Surprised there hasn't been more chat about this game though. The hype for this and the original seemed big, but it vanishes after release...

@Kimyonaakuma It is quite an improvement, primarily with the Quality of Life features. You can now save your game any time, anywhere. And the story — canon of vengeance — provides a lot more story material. And if you have beaten the base game you can get some items carried over to your new game which is welcome.

I’d say this is the most definitive version of the game, similar to Persona 5 Golden/Royal. It’s definitely worth the price to me.

Been playing it since launch. At 35+ hours now, and I can now say, with absolute certainty, that Vengeance is an absolutely gigantic improvement. Not only the new bosses, music, mechanics, rebalanced level scaling, etc., but also how much more naturally the plot progresses, and how invested the characters are in what's going on. The original release didn't seem to know what to do with this cast, but they're fully integrated into the story now.

I'm in love. Very much on track to be my game of the year, at least.

Ugh. Men.
