Well you’re not really playing anything that requires it other than MH, right? I’d imagine as pumped as you were for that, you’re doing mostly single player.
I’m gonna buy my sub after the free 7 days, since I already set aside the money in the spring. Also buying my friend a year since the service launches on her birthday.

I'll be getting a 3 month sub initially, I think. Had a bit of an impulse buy so I don't have the full $20 in eshop currency anymore. But a 3 month sub will last me through December or so, then in January I'll have the funds to pay for a year's sub.
I don't know if third-party games with online features will require subscription too -some of them, especially Street Fighter ones, would need a fix anyway-, but... what if the service is a way to keep us from switching regions to buy digital games cheaper?
I mean, what if a side effect of the new service is the inability to do that? I'm maybe paranoid, but I've started to fear it. I always buy from other regions, switching regions or with another profile.
@FaeKnight So, that's not a problem of detecting a region switch, which they allow or have allowed as of now, but of the unlinking part of the process. Thanks.
That's a bummer. I buy a lot from South Africa, with Mexico I have a different profile and should be able to continue buying there and playing the games with my main profile, as I do now, but having to create new profiles and have them on my desktop to continue buying at cheap prices kind of bothers me.
I even "got rid of" -ahem- a South African profile once because I didn't want 2 digital games I had there anymore, in order to buy them again on cart, and a nice side effect of that operation was having my interface a little cleaner.
@subpopz I think most of us that are in this thread regularly are in the same boat as you; we knew it was coming, planned for the pittance cost, and just want to know what other goodies we’ll get with the sub. I think $20 for 20 NES games (just to start with) is a good value, too. Sure, not every game is gonna interest me long, but it was the same with the Genesis collection on 360 or Rare Replay on XB1, and this is cheaper.

@subpopz I expect the selection to be very close to the NES Mini list of games. There are differences already, like Soccer and Tennis, but still. That, and games whose arcade versions we'll get on the Arcade Archives line (Excitebike, Urban Champion...). So nothing really surprising or groundbreaking.
The Switch Online bit of the direct was... underwhelming. They briefly showed what may be a few more titles for the NES aspect. But other then that they basically just told us the same thing the website already did.
EDIT: I guess they have updated the website with the missing information now. So there is that.
Oh, the NES controllers are interesting. I'm not sure if I'll buy them though. I remember how hard the old NES controllers could be on your hands. And just how small they were.
Did anyone else notice that the site now says the app only works with 4 Switch titles and the NES game service? If you don't play Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or Mario Tennis Aces it's going to be fairly useless.
