Topic: Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet

@Dom_31 we might get a 3rd version apparently, I hope it's DLC though.

@Hayter Well since Scarlet & Violet are basically Red & Blue again, maybe Pokemon Canary (Yellow).

@Fizza Yes, but if you compare it to another regional map shown in the trailer that revealed the electric gym leader, there's nothing connecting the Region to a larger landmass.

These games most likely won't be getting a third version, since it seems like Gamefreak is more into doing DLC now.

@VoidofLight not really… even in that one, that corner of the map is obscured, so you can’t actually where that thin strip of land ends.

In fact, you can see there’s more land over there, next to the button.

@VoidofLight I think that's definitely the road they're going. And like with Sword & Shield, after the DLC, there will be a physical version with the dlc included eventually.

@VoidofLight The sales back the DLC strategy up too. Sword/Shield has sold more than Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald (all 3 combined), Diamond/Pearl/Platinum (all 3 combined), Black/White/Black 2/White 2 (all 4 combined) and will sell more than Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon (all 4 combined) by the end of this year.

Just 4 more days, feeling the hype. I was Team Fuecoco the second I saw the reveal of the starters, but treating myself to the leaks, I might go for Quaxly instead now.

Has anyone purchased the Scarlet/Violet Edition OLED Switch?

I've got a V1 Switch which I've had for like nearly 5 years now, tempted to upgrade to an OELD switch and torn between Platoon and Scarlet/Violet version

@W90WBA The S&V one looks cooler in person, the Platoon one is a little violent on the eyes. It's up to you in the end though.

I just Pre-Ordered the game.

I will now only get candy for Christmas.

My physical Violet copy is arriving tomorrow, guess I still cant play before the 18th due to online check?

@Hayter you can download the update and play (online) just fine.
It's not like they lock physical copies before release..

@Dom_31 Okay, thought it was restricted to the 18th just like with digital purchases. I usually only buy digital, but for Pokemon I double dip and then gift the physical to my sister.

Two more days remain. The wait gets harder the closer that we get to the games.
